I have had the Fiskars brand trimmers for years. I have purchased several and thought this one would be a nice change from the usual orange one I have which no longer worked due to a broken wire.
First of all, the arm on this is very flimsy compared to the other similar style Fiskars trimmers. It doesn't stay open. Also, it is lighter weight overall and I fear it won't last long. The cuts are okay, but because it is so lightweight, it shifts more easily than other trimmers.
Look elsewhere - the gold doesn't make up for the design flaws.
I love the size and look of my trimmer. It has very handy sizes already displayed (of which I have yet to use). The trimmer is VERY shark, cutting through all card stock weights with ease. I just wish scrapbook.com sold replacement WHITE trimmers (not that I need them yet).
As soon as I received it in the mail, I used it. It was smooth cutting and I have used it about everyday. I really like it and would recommend it to anyone who does a lot of cutting.
I love my gold trimmer! cuts great and looks super cute, just wish they sold replacement blades in white or gold...hint, hint!

I have three other Fiskars cutters and wouldn't have any other cutter. However, this one is shameful. It is shabbily made; there is no wire for precision cutting, the swing arm doesn't stay open, much less lock and this is all around disappointing. I can't believe Fiskars made this; maybe it was contracted out to someplace else. Fiskars should be ashamed.
liked it but had to get used to measurements. the 1/2's were not marked and had to mark with marker. they were all same lines hard to tell.
Love the card making measurements and has made those cuts way easier.
This trimmer is very well made, sturdy, and easy to use. It is a basic staple in my craft room. I use a trimmer constantly and Fiskers is one of the better ones. I would definitely recommend it.

Which blade do you use for this model?

I use the Fiskars brand trimmer blade. It comes two to a package. It is a titanium blade coating. I purchased the blades from Scrapbooking.

I score with mine all the time, I just use my stylus to score with. Works great.

I just got mine about 3 weeks ago...so not sure where to get them...I guess I would try Michael's first or a fiskars website.

Is there a guarantee with this product? The last Fiskars I purchaced lasted about two weeks before a wire in back guiding the cutter broke, making the cutter unusable. I was told I had to box it up and send it to Fiskars and then there was no guarantee they would fix it. I did not send it in.
Fiskars offers a Lifetime Warranty on many of their trimmers, including this one.

If you are inquiring about the Fiskars - Teresa Collins - Studio Gold Collection - 12 Inch Deluxe Portable Trimmer, this particular model does not have the guiding wire. I LOVE THIS MODEL! The best thing about this portable trimmer is how light and thin it is, and cuts multiple pages at a time, and scores easy by placing score pen-tip(?) into the narrow track of the clear cutting guide.
