I just received a pack of punches I ordered from sb.com, the Fiskars punches are so easy to use! You can easily see what you're punching and I look so forward to use this for my Christmas cards! This one fits perfectly both in the extra large fiskars punch and also the EK Success - Paper Shapers - Nesting Punch - Scallop Circle 2"
Picked this up thinking it'd be just the right size to make some cute garlands for around the house. It was. It did start to bother my forearm/wrist after a hundred or so punches, but that's probably not a normal use-case. I'll definitely pick up more in different sizes eventually.
I use this punch constantly. It is one of two that I never put away because I may need them again. I would do that with any circle punch, but I got this one first. It is really easy to use and I can punch out a bunch of circles really quickly. I also have the medium, but will also be getting the extra large circle and some squares (when they are released). They just have endless uses.
I have noticed imperfect circles with lighter paper and it just won't punch thin handmade papers or tissue paper, but that is such a slight issue for me. A little imperfection is not a problem at all.
Edit (July 5, 2010): While I was able to use this punch many many times, when it broke it was not at all fixable. I may replace mine in the future, but I'm not going to right away. They used a plastic piece where a metal piece would have worked better. That change would have prevented it from breaking. I still recommend this entire line on punches, but they cannot handle heavy cardstock and they don't work correctly on light papers and handmade papers. Only use them on regular weight papers.
The new design of Fiskar's squeeze punches is awesome! You can line up your paper/cardstock perfectly in the easy-to-see "window," so you never get a partial punch. Just the gentlest of squeezes produces the perfect circle. I love to stamp small flowers, words, or even monograms and other images on the circles, for personalized embellishments on my layouts or cards. I have a bad back, neck, and stiff fingers, making many punches difficult for me to use. For some, I actually have to stand up and put all my weight down on the punch, and then still have trouble because it was not lined up properly. With the Fiskar's squeeze punches, punching has become quick, easy, and accurate, not to mention lots of fun, and a great way to be creative!
I love everything Fiskars makes. I already had a circle punch this size, but it was by a different manufacturer and gave me nothing but trouble. I finally broke down and bought this one. It is a million times easier and the punches are perfect. Yea Fiskars!
