I really like this circle-cutter. After reading the reviews on here, I was a little worried that it might be challenging to use, but I had no problem at all! It's fun to cut with and when you follow the directions others have shared here, it's a breeze!
I can say for sure that this is a MONEY-SAVING tool and well-worth the price (used my 40% off coupon at Joann's). For the price of 1 or 2 circle hand punches, you can make any size circle, rings, and frames. I'm very satisfied with this cutter!

I love this circle cutter. I've own quite a few, but stopped after buying this one. 1 to 8 inches and everything inbetween. It is easy.
Hold down the orange stopper on top. It holds the paper. Putting you hand on the round base (not the extended piece) grasp on both sides of the cutter. BTW: pressing down on the "stopper" will not help it to cut better. Use an easy hand t and will cut perfectly for you everytime.
It is protable and a must have for everyone.

I really like it!, but wasn't thinking when I bought it that I would need a mat for it. I used my chopping board but it dulls the blades very quickly so.....guess I'm going to have to order a cutting mat. I took to heart what the other reviewers said, and I've had no problems. You just need to experiment with it on scrap paper until you get the hang of it. I have had no problems cutting my pictures out either. Would definitely recommend it.
I know that this product isn't eveyone's favorite, but if you master how to use it, it works great.
First, you have to push down fairly hard on the center spring to make sure that your paper or the cutter doesn't move.
Second, MAKE SURE that you are using the center circle to turn the cutter, NOT the ruler arm/blade! This is the biggest mistake that I have seen people make. This is what is going to cause an uneven cut.
I really like this product and I like the range of circle sizes that you can cut with just a loosening of a wheel. :)

This cutter does have a slight learning curve to it. When I first used it, I had issues with it too. I found that I wasn't applying enough pressure to the top of it. I was using it while I was sitting and I found that if I stand up and put more pressure on it while turning it(and NOT by the arm) it works perfectly.
I do find that the ruler is a little difficult to read. That is why I didn't give it 5 stars. If precession isn't too big of a deal to you ... this cutter is great!!!
I had a bit of trouble when I first started using it, but after I realized I needed to use consistent pressure and not move the paper, all was good. Make sure you use sharp blades too. Love that you can make them really small and really large circles too.
I've had the circle cutter for years. While I still use it, I will not replace it or recommend it. I've tried it all- I hold it correctly by the orange top & am very careful to not touch the arm while cutting. I use a cutting mat. At least half the time I still get an uneven cut. The arm moves all the time. I have to double check the measurement before cutting the same size circle just to be sure it hasn't shrunk a bit. If there was a way to lock the arm in place and a way to cut concentric circles, this would be a great tool. It's just impossible to cut a circle evenly inside another! Disappointed, as *most* Fiskars products are great.
Sorry, but I'm not a fan of this circle cutter. I used it and used it and I feel like I gave it a good try. It cuts circles but I think it is hard to use compared to some circle cutters and if you want to go back and cut an open circle, you need to draw around the base of the cutter before you make the first cut or you'll never get the cutter placed right again to make an even circle. I thought it was a pain. I gave it 2 stars because, yes, it cuts circles.

This was a waste of money since there are way better circle cutters out there. The idea is cool, but the arm slides in and out while cutting, making horrible looking circles.
