Glossy Accents really is a good product, but one should reserve its use strictly to scrapbooking or other paper crafts. It does not lend itself well to use on jewelry or other objects which need a more durable gloss. It does dry crystal clear and pretty hard, but it can dry lumpy and it has a tendency to dip in the middle if you use a decent amount. When it dries it can leave a depression in the center, so two even layers are recommended for an "epoxy" or resin look. It IS waterbased, so although Glossy Accents is water resistant, it is NOT WATERPROOF. If water is touching something with Glossy Accents on it it will soften and become cloudy. However, its biggest drawback for me was that the surface is not very durable and scratches/dings easily. I was hoping to use this as a sealer for shrink art jewelry but it just isn't quite durable enough for that. Would be perfect for paper applications, however.
I really like Glossy Accents because I can use it in many ways:
- as a regular adesive
- it is really clear so I can use it on clear embellishments, buttons etc, for example I adhere patterned paper underneath a clear button with it, perfect
- I love to use it over paper bits, i.e. printed or colored images, because when it dries it gives an epoxy finish and if you use it abudantly the result is almost 3d. It also retains its elasticity and doesn't crackle if you bend it.
- I also use it to make faux "pearls": I use a drop of stickles, let t dry and on top of it a ganerous drop of Glossy Accents.
The only thing that I don't like is that I have to wait too long if I use it thick, so I let it dry overnight just to be sure.

I love this stuff. I actually bought a second bottle so I would not run out. I never do that. You can use it as an adhesive with just the smallest dot and it holds flowers, ribbons, chipboard, grungeboard...what ever you stick will stay! I've used it over rub ons that I put on TH fragments to keep them from rubbing off. I've used them to glue paper behind the fragments as it's see through. I LOVE it with a one of the masks...just ink or use glimmer mist over your mask heat set and then use the glossy accents to add highlighted dimension to certain areas. It's fun, versatile and a must have in my tool box.

When I finally bought a bottle of Glossy Accents, I had no idea that I would be reaching for it constantly! I use it on almost every layout! And it seemed like such a small bottle but honestly...after much usage, I still have a lot left!! It goes a long way! One of my favorite ways to use it...stamp your letters, cut out your letters, adhere them to chipboard, and top them off wtih glossy accents. They look like custom epoxy letters! And, another great use, I make my own little buttons to match my layouts. I cut a little circle out of the patterned paper, sometimes I give it a little outline or some dots for fun, adhere it to bare chipboard, use the cropadile to put some holes in it, then top it off the the glossy accents. Sometimes I skip the cropadile step...it makes a cute little flower center that matches perfectly! So many cool uses for this product!! Cover your pictures to make them look like a custom epoxy accent...cover words in your jounaling for a subtle emphais...make little dew drops on your silk flowers...make rain drops on your pictures or layouts...so many options! You'll love this stuff!!
I just love glossy accent! It is so versatile. It´s my favorite when it comes to glue, and it is also great for making 3D effect. I think it gives a very cool effect to put some on the paper you´re using, and then drag it randomly across the page with a ruler. And I also often put it on cut-out letters and swirls to get dimension. Sometimes first, and then paint over with crackle paint, or paint the letters first, then use glossy, for shiny letters. It can also be used to make waterdroplets on flowers. and so much more... :)
I use to buy clear dots for water layouts sometimes paying $2 - $3 dollars for a small quantity. Never again. This product is great. I've used it thinly and I've used it thick. It does what I want it to do and dries completely clear and the applicator is very precise. This is great. I wish I had bought two instead of just one. I can see myself using this product a lot.

First, I love the cap on this adhesive/clear embellishment product. I have other adhesives such as ribbon glue and metal glue that do not have a cap that screws on. That makes me hesitant to pack it in my embellisment case as I worry it will open and/or leak. Although my case is divided a glue would seep into other compartments. This cap is secure and I would be comfortable packing it with anything else to go to crops. Also, it does dry completely clear and glossy. I used it initially on the french knots I made with some paper stitching, which gave them a shiny appearance and secured them. I wanted to prevent them coming loose since I clipped the excess thread so close and this turned out to be the perfect solution. I have many more ideas for using this product and, like the other reviewers have mentioned, it really does not take much at all so I imagine this bottle will last a long time.
This is already my second bottle of Glossy accents. I've used it for several projects - the most recent, I made him a sheriff's badge and covered it in Glossy accents and it looked so cool! Everyone wanted to know where I found a badge with his name on it - they couldn't believe that I made it! From accenting a small piece on a project to covering bigger items, this is perfect! I have a small mini fan (battery operated) that I leave on the item to dry and in no time, I'm ready to move on to my next project. A great addition to anyone who scraps or makes cards!
Thank you for offering "Glossy Accents" by Ranger. Several products out there make things glossy, but "Glossy Accents" gives a dimensional quality. The fine tip allows me to be as precise as I wish - great for outlining. It also fills-in beautifully and levels itself. It dries very clear, very hard and shiny to boot. I occasionally make teaching aids for my sister, the teacher, and she loves this product also. Some of her students need to TOUCH letters, numbers, and images in order to learn them.
This product is great as a liquid adhesive, especially for attaching embellishments and chipboard. I also use it to create a finishing coat on chipboard after painting. When I create acrylic albums I use it to mount the paper and embellishment. A little glossy accent will go a long way.
