Cuts very well and easy to grab quickly. I use it in card making when i need a quick small, narrow word or small flower die. No electricity needed. It’s a nice compliment to the big die cutting machines. The plates are thick and don’t easily warp.
While this machine perfectly cut out the Heffy Doodle die that was included in the bundle, it would not cut out my Scrappy Tails die or my die from Penny Black.
I ran one of my Scrappy Tails die through 3 times and it still would not cut it out. I only ran my Penny Black die through once. Both dies looked like they had just been embossed into the card stock, and the card stock was not heavy weight. Unfortunately, there is no way to show the photos of the finished results here on this review. The dies barely made an impression in the cutting plate.
Yes, I know that machines cut dies differently, and you should try shims, but if I have to use different shims right from the get-go then it defeats the object of just picking up this small machine and taking it to my living room to use while I watch TV. I have never had a problem with cutting out these dies on any of my other machines, and I have a few!!
I took my dies and the same card stock to a friend who has the Sizzix mini die cutting machine and that cut them out perfectly without any shims.
As most of my dies are from Scrappy Tails, for me, it is not the right machine, which is a shame because with the sides folded up, it is a nice size and doesn't take up much room.
I use this machine on a daily basis! It is so cute and fits perfectly inside my drawer at my craft desk. I just take it out whenever I need it. I've only had an issue cutting 1 specific die, and I just needed to add a piece of extra cardstock behind it and it worked perfect. I stamp my images on a piece of cardstock that is 3" wide so I know they'll fit in the machine and I don't have to drag out the big one. It works out great! I haven't had to change out the plates at all either!

Where can you buy more dies for this size machine?

Hello. Any dies that are smaller than 3 inch by 6 inches will work with this machine. Creative expressions brand available on our site carries many "Mini" dies.
