The binder is 2 1/2 inches thick. It is 15 inches wide.
One thing you should know....the page protectors seem extra roomy. and the pages don't fit snug.
I left the white sheet in the page protectors when I slipped in my LO. The white shows on the sides.
It is not stitched like the 3 ring We R Memory Keeper albums, nor does it have metal corner protectors.

Yes, it is 2.5 inches. I love it for my Hawaii album. I also prefer the 3 ring to the post bound because it seems like I can add more pages without having to take the album apart to add pegs. Plus, the pages are easier to move around, in case you don't scrap it in order. Another plus is they stand better alone, so if you take one off your shelf to look at, the others won't topple over.
