This embossing powder is shiny, but I wouldn't consider it a fine-grain embossing powder.
The color shown must have been a good 3-4 coats of the embossing powder + heat embossing because the color I got on my page was grey with a slight hint of blue if you put it up to the light and look for the color.
It left an awful grey reside on my pages when excess embossing powder was removed. Some reside stayed even my page even after attempting to wipe it off.
I wouldn't purchase this product again.

Used it to emboss journaling lines on a darker colored tag... BEAUTIFUL!
So many times when you’re heating an embossing powder for the 1st time...or on a different surface, you never quite know what you’ll get...& that’s part of the fun. This powder is like that. It’s a beautiful shiny pale gray enamel with very subtle blue glitter thru-out that gives it that blue slate color. However, on black it is a gorgeous almost opalescent shiny blue. It often halos on black but I like that effect. An anti-static bag rubbed over surface 1st can help eliminate.
