I love this tool. I know there are tons of fancy and cool setters on the market, BUT for the money and the easy use...I RECOMMEND IT. I have tried many different setters (not going to mention companies) and they were great. However, I found this setter to work just as good as the competition. It is easy to carry to my crops. The storage container is really cool and it is handy. It is so safe and easy to use my 11 year old step daughter uses it all the time and I don't worry about her hurting herself.
I not only use it for a setter but for a hole punch. I will admit that sometimes my eyelets aren't flat but I never could get them flat with other tools.
To sum it up....The price is right, a 11 year can use it, and it is easy to carry. Try it out and you will like too.

Ok folks, this is the best setter I have used. I have sooo many friends who have the handheld crop-o-dile thing who laughed at me when I bought this. You see, you can put an eyelet anywhere on the page - right in the middle, near the middle. With those other tools, you can't. How many times do you get through a page and say, "hmmm, I need a brad right there in the middle?" Well the other tools don't reach that far. So, all of my friends are always borrowing mine. It is easy to use, does not hurt your hand. The only drawback, it is a little noisy at 1am when the family is sleeping. But I wouldn't trade it for anything!
I use a lot of eyelets on my layouts. I have tried other eyelet setters and none of them lasted very long. I dont like to use the hammer because it can get painful! I have had my Making Memories eyelet setter for over a year and it still works as well as the first time I used it. It is very sturdy. I have used it to punch through chipboard and book boards. There are three different sizes of punches. It comes with its own little mat to protect whatever you are punching on top of. I like the little tin that it comes in, makes it easy to keep all the parts in one place. Another one of my "cant do without tools".

I have used the standard hand held eyelet tool, I have used my best friends big mama-jama tool that sits on the table... this one, to me, totally beats the other types. You can punch holes & set eyelets anywhere on your paper that you want! It's ultra portable & compact and the mat it comes with seems to hold up great. The metal box it comes in is certainly a plus for those o.c.d. neat freaks like me! Grab a scratch sheet of paper and start working on learning the settings.
I have this setter, and I love it! Yes, it's a little loud, however most of my tools are anyway, and it isn't unpleasant. I've never had to use very much force, and it is a time saver over using the traditional hammer method. If you just practice a couple of times on scrap paper with it and not go directly to a layout or project you'll get the hang of things. Just make sure you use the correct size setter/punch with the correct eyelets or the results will not be pretty.
I've had this product for awhile and use it quite frequently. The heads are simple to change since they are magnetic. The holes punch nicely. When setting the eyelets, I sometimes have to do the same one 2-3 times to get the back flat. The only other drawback is that it's quite noisy. The tin that it comes in is nice and the mat is a useful little bonus!
This Instant Setter from Making Memories was the first setter I purchased after I got tired of hammering eyelets. The tool is very easy to use and comes a tin storage container so all the pieces stay together.
The setter can be a little loud at times, but it's nowhere near as loud as a hammer pounding a piece of metal into an eyelet.
This is such a good eyelet setter. It's simple and easy to use. It does the job well every time and is very durable. I love how simple it is to put the different tips in: the magnetic head makes it so easy to change to the different sizes. I would definately recommend it to anyone. I got mine for only $18 and it was worth every penny.
I have used a hammer for a couple of years; didn't like that. I looked at the crop-a-dile and thought it looked like a tool of torture. I saw this Making memories Setter and the price was right, reviews good, so I thought why not. I have not been disappointed. It works great and easy to use. This is a must have tool.
This is an awesome tool, great for punching holes into your tags, easy to use, nice storage tin, comes with mat and 3 different sizes of hole punches, what i like about this tool also is that you can adjust your tension...price is great also...as far as i am concern i do most of my shopping here on this site...LOVE IT!!!
