Have a Cricut? Baby Bug, Create, Expression? Even Cricut Cake? If you do, then you need Design Studio. Design Studio, or DS, lets you weld shapes to create your own designs, you can weld letters together to create words. However, the best feature I have found on it is that you can accurately measure what you need so that you're not cutting several times just to get the right size. This wastes both blade and cardstock, no?
Design Studio eliminates that. You can measure the area you need the title, then create your title in DS so that it fits that space. SO easy! Also if you are creating a layered character, you can lay all the pieces out on the mat, cut your cardstock accordingly, and cut all the pieces out in one fell cut.
Personally, I cannot seem to operate my Cricut anymore without Design Studio.

This software lets you take your current cartridges and sort of re-vamp what they can do. My favorite function is being able to connect letters and objects to where they will cut as 1 whole object. You can take simple font cartridges and this software together and the possibilities are endless. Being able to make more complex and different designs makes it easier to embellish with just paper.

This is so easy to use, was able to get it set up within minutes from taking it out of the box. I love how you can create your own designs from different carts into one design. You must own a jukebox though in order to be able to cut it from different carts with ease.

I got this product so I could make connected titles... and now I am connecting images from different cartridges... so much fun... I have a lot of fun with this. I also use it when I am just cutting singles images... because it helps me to see how it will cut on the mat!

i love this , it lets you go a little father with what you want to do with your circut cartridges. this is a lot of fun, it takes awhile to get use to it but it really is fun. buy one and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought the Cricut Design Studio software about two years ago. It just came out. I was so excited. I loaded it right away and have loved it every since.
The cartridge library has every cartridge released and can be updated with the new ones as they come out. What I really like was that I could use images from every cartridge to see what I liked before buying the cartridge itself.
Yes, you do need the cartridges to cut the images but not to play and create on your computer. I reccommend that if you buy the software you also spend a little extra money of the Cricut Jukebox too. The jukebox saves you from having to switch cartridges during the cutting process.

This for the most part is a waste of money unless you are really into joining test and spending way too much of your time doing it. I am very disappointed in this software. Maybe it is because of my Graphic Design background, but it is not as easy to use as it should be.

i got this only abt a month ago-omg-this is awesome!!! i luv welding diffy things together and making some nice creations!
I thought this was a product that I would never have any use or need for. Then I thought, well, I'll get the trial version, and since I didn't have but one cartridge besides the ones that came with my Expression, I still thought the trial version would be all I would ever need or want. Boy was I wrong! I LOVE this product...and since I have since purchased another couple of cartridges, it is a MUST HAVE! I finally got the full version of the software and it is AWESOME!
At first glance, you might think (as I did early on) that welding is about the only thing this is good for. WRONG! You can change so many other aspects of the letters/shapes along with welding. You can make objects fat and short, tall and skinny, rotate them, etc., etc. The more you play with this, the more you will realize what the software is capable of!
Try this for yourself...you'll love it!
