This pen will write or draw readily -- it's ink shows variations in tone and texture. It seems to do best with filling in areas in drawing, and use a tap-tap method. However,,it will show up well on dark paper and labels as cursive or,printing. It is hard to see on lighter paper, unless used to fill a "framed" shape. Anyway,,I love every gold pen that exists!! Even those dreaded ones.where you push the hollow nib against the paper, then shake, and end up with a pool of gold. This pen definitely does not do that! But I would never mistake it for real gold, either.,it's just a lovely, almost pastel, golden color.
