I have used them on good card stock (acid & lignin free), watercolor paper, bristol board, mixed media paper, and mailing envelopes. The ink usually soaks through the paper, so be sure you have a plastic bag or craft sheet under your work - for envelopes, I put a piece of cardboard inside until the ink dries. The better the paper quality, the happier I've been with color blending, but use what you have and enjoy the process.
