Hi. Yes it is expendable. I have not been happy with any Book I've ever expanded because you either have to add post or make it really tight with the post you have and it just has never looked right. But maybe it will work better for you. Good luck to you maybe you have better tools than I do. It also would help if you had two people one to hold one side and the Other to use a screwdriver. I hope that helps.
