A few years back when eyelets starting appearing everywhere in scrapbooking I saved my money, clipped a coupon and purchased a Making Memories Tool Kit. Immediately there were problems. First, this tool needed a hard surface, often my craft table would not do and I had to kneel on our cement floor to make it work. It took two hands and the noise was a huge drawback. And although the tiny hammer was so very cute, I looked for something more. I then received the Provo Craft Silent Setter as a gift and I am very happy with it. It solved all of these problems I had with the previous setter and was much more practical and economical.
Why the Silent Setter is different. The first thing I liked about the Silent Setter was it's size. In it's case it measures only 7" tall, 3.5" wide and 2" deep. It is considerably lighter than the Making Memories eyelet system and has a zipper which closes it completely which makes it easy to throw into your cropping bag and go.
Second, it contains all you need within it's small case. The setter, tools, healing mat and it even comes with a small plastic container filled with eyelets. I emptied the eyelets and replaced them with my most frequently used small silver brads. Other crafters may feel they need the other tools which come in the Making Memories set, but I never used them.
Third, it only requires one hand. That means you can use the other hand to steady your paper so no slippage occurs (more about this when I show my featured project.) This tool is completely noise free, which means a lot to this Mommy of two.
And lastly, the price is much more affordable than other eyelet setters on the market.

I just received this as a gift for Mother's Day. I used a Eyelet setter before but never the silent setter. This setter is noise free and it is so easy to use. Just put a hole in the paper with the tool.. put the eyelet through the hole.. Push and turn, push and turn and your done!! I set 5 eyelets on 1 page in 3 minutes. It's quick, easy, and gets the job done QUIETLY! If you like using eyelets, I definitely suggest you get the Provo Craft Silent setter!

I used to have an old setter set that you had to use a hammer with and it made so much noise, and still didn't set the eyelets very well. The silent setter is a different matter altogether! The top of the setter fits the palm of your hand very well, and does a great job of setting the eyelets. This also works very well for punching a hole in an awkward place that regular hole punches won't fit. I love the little zippered compartment where everything fits so well. Very good product!

This product is great! You get 3 different sizes instead of two and there's no loud hammer. Sometime the Crop-A-Dile doesn't work as well for me so I tend to use it for my bigger eyelets and this for my smaller eyelets. The setting mat is a nice mat too! I was surprised at how easy it was to set the eyelets by just pushing. And you don't have to push hard either!
This is a great product!

I've had this for a few years and I love it. It's a great product and it really is silent. I do most of my scrapping at night when my kids are asleep and my traditional setter was way to loud. This was the perfect solution to my problem.

I love my silent setter. I have no problems with using other brand eyelets with it. I love the fact that it is silent and I don't wake up the whole house with it. I love it has setting for diffrent size eyelets. Really good product!!

I like this setter pretty well so far... after having only used it a few times. I like the fact that everything comes together in a convenient case. It seems to cut fairly easily and is indeed a lot quiter than my old hammer method. Plus I can get the eyelets pretty flat without worrying about getting too carried away and smashing them (again, like the old method). The only drawback is that the setter is a little bit harder to use on non-aluminum eyelets. Standing above the gadget and applying lots of pressure does seem to manage it OK however. So overall, I still think I'm pretty happy with it.

The silent setter is the only setter I've bought up to this point, I absolutely LOVE both the tool and the case it comes in! It is a fantastic alternative to "hammer" driven setters, although, to get your pressure, you do need to push a bit on it [I stand up to get a better angle & it's really not that difficult]. I have noticed that it only does well with softer eyelets, so you need to find brands that it will work well with, but it come with the hardware to set 3 different sizes of eyelets, and it will reach anywhere on your page where [up until recently] the Crop-a-dile would not. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tool, I use it often!

I love my silent Setter, when ever i leave for a crop with friends or family my silent setter is one tool that i never leave without! A few years ago i didn't even knw what eylets were much less this nifty tool, i was just getting into scrapping and found this item at a local store, the owner of the shop showed me how it worked and from then on i was hooked! I have friends that have the setters with the spring in it and it left dents in her beautiful table, i showed her the silent setter and she loved it too! i hightly recommend this to begginer as well as advanced scrappers, it helps add that somthing extra!

I have nothing negative to say about the Silent Setter. It's quiet, convienient, and easy to use. So if you enjoy the sound of a banging hammer at 2am then this is definitly not for you. I think this is a fantastic product and i'd reccomend it to anyone :)
