Generous ink for a mini cube

I've been testing out ink minis from a number of manufacturers so I can find the right fit for me. I almost let some reviews complaining about dry ink pads derail me on buying these, even though I really like the color palette and others have said good things about PinkFresh inks. After I ordered, I contacted PinkFresh Studios' customer service to ask them what I should expect the weight of a new mini to be (so I could test them when they arrived). They said the weight should be about 9.5 grams. Well, I have to tell you, every ink cube weighed in between 10-11 grams. Not one was below. A very well known manufacturer's cube line comes in at an average of 9 grams brand new, so the higher weight was nice to see. I'm looking forward to testing out these inks further.

    Yellow Pinkfresh coordinating inks

I absolutely love these colors. I was missing a good combo of yellow/orange colors. These inks leave a rich, crisp stamped image and the color variety is perfect. I highly recommend and the mini ink cubes are totally affordable!

  • Trying a Different Brand of Ink

I bought a few of these ink cubes in sets of coordinating colors. I like that they’ve already decided what colors go together (I’m never good at that). So far I’ve enjoyed using them and may decide to get them in the full size ink pads.

    shades

I needed some colors that were closer in shade for blending reasons and these few sets fit the bill Ü

Pads not fully saturated and were dry.

These ink cubes arrived fairly dry. They were extremely dry stamping from pad to paper. I also stamped, using a well loved stamp but the inked image was not as sharp, vibrant, fully covered and clear as it should be. These ink cubes are brand new, never been used so I should not have to re-stamp with these ink cubes 4 or 5 times in order to get a good inked image. These companies should have good quality control assuring that they are providing a product that does not have to be re-inked almost immediately upon purchase. The colors of these Pinkfresh ink pads are gorgeous so that is why I would still recommend these ink cubes, you would just require re-inkers.

    Disappointed

The ink works fine but I’m disappointed that the colours of the inks are not true to the colours on the lids, which I based my choice upon. For this reason I wouldn’t choose Pinkfresh brand again

  • what is the difference between dye inks, pigment inks, and hybrid inks?   By: crafty carla (14-Mar-21) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Dye inks are generally more opaque then pigment and hybrid ink and take longer to dry. They tend to be easier to blend. Some have a reaction to water that causes more white/opaque spots when water is used on top of them. Ink that reacts to water will most likely say so in the name or the description of the ink.

A lot of pigment inks do not blend well because they dry quicker. As the name would suggest they also tend to be more pigmented in color than dye inks .

Hybrid inks have a mix of characteristics from both types and it really depends on the brand which characteristics it will have.

If you put your question into a google search you can find a lot of more in-depth answers to the question. This is just a quick easy answer. By: Arsenic (15-Mar-21) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
