I love creating a whitewashed look on my projects and before I got this stain I was using white paint. This is so much easier to use and just as effective. I find that it goes on with quite a dramatic white color but if I wipe off some of the excess the results are fantastic! Very fun to use!
Picket Fence…what a game changer. It is the 37th color in Tim Hotlz's Distress Stains. It was the first opaque Distress color available (until the marker was released this winter). Distress Stains are available in the exact same colors as Distress Ink (except for Picket Fence). However they are not the exact same formula and the colors can be a tad different-however they are intended to- and do- work side-by-side beautifully.
Because the formulas of Distress Inks and Stains are not the same they were able to produce an opaque white STAIN but not an INK. Picket Fence is so much fun to play with when mixing 2 or more Stains to make backgrounds. You end up with the original colors, the mixing of the original colors and then an opaque version of all of those. So much fun….I bought an extra to have on hand so I would NEVER be without and my first few days of playing with it I used half the bottle. Run out and get one for yourself.
What a fabulous addition to the already amazing line of Distressed Stains. Picket Fence is a wonderfully unique Distressed Stain with it's white-wash look. Whether you are going for that 'Shabby Chic' look or even a little subdued Grunge... The possibilities are endless with this versatile product!
I can not wait 2 make my Christmas cards 4 this year with this product.
I took a class with Magenta Style Stamps & we use a white crayon 2 make a white wash but I will B using this product in the place of the white crayon, faster & so much more simple 2 complete a project.
This is my go-to white stain for every shabby grunge steampunk project. It's opaque - but doesn't have 100% coverage - it's perfect.
I go through a bottle every two weeks!
This seems to be living up to its advance billing. I used it first on ribbon and then added other distress stains and got a beautiful result...creamy and light.
Great color, easy & fun to use. Great coverage of bigger areas that you are working on. My only wish where that the distress stains where bigger.
Whether used on a resist paper or regular paper there are many fun ways to use this to make the paper uniquely your own.
You will definately be surprised what a touch of white will do to most projects. This product is perfect for this job.
First time using Distress Stain and I love it! I will definitely add a couple more stain colors to my stash.
