    • Not all that faded

This is an interesting blue. If find Stormy Sky to be more of a faded denim color because it's slightly lighter like jeans that have been washed a lot. I'd say this Faded Jeans ink pad is a light navy color… faded but still more saturated and substantial… and a tiny, tiny shift toward purple (which denim does not have). If you were to put them in an order I would say Chipped Sapphire was dark navy, Faded Jeans next, followed by Stormy Sky. No collection should be without Faded Jeans but if you are just looking for a nice medium blue with some character this is a good choice.

I love these inks! They are so versatile. You can stamp with them, use a blending tool to apply them, smear them on a non-stick craft sheet spritz them with water and apply the paper to it and get a lovely water color background and you can even use them for embossing and as a medium for perfect pearls. They really do amazing things when you spritz them or spatter them with water. I've even seen Tim Holtz apply them with a brayer to create a plaid background.

      Fabulous!

I love all of the Tim Holtz Distress Inks, and this is definitely my favorite! The first time I pick up the inks, I had no idea how to use them. I tried using a sponge and it ended up looking horrible, so put the inks away and forgot about them. Recently, I learned how to really use these (love the blender tool!) and the inks have become a staple in all of my new projects!

      Distress Ink, Faded Jeans

I love the Distress inks for their blendability and layering. You can achieve the palest baby blue to a deep denim color with layers of this ink. A truer blue than the Broken China Distress ink which has a more teal read. A little advice on these inks: they clean up very well with a lanolin based soap!

      a cool blue

exactly what I was looking for...a more subtle blue. This color makes a rich deep dark blue sky for backgrounds.

Nice but not as nice as Broken China.
