I have the basic set of watercolor pencils and love them and was really excited to see this pastel set. I am so disappointed, these are way too light and barely show up at all on any sort of paper (plain, watercolor, etc, I've tried it all). I've tried them dry and wet and nothing seems to make a difference. The pencils from the basic set are smoother to apply and the color is more saturated, but with the pastels I have to bare down super hard and go over it several times before I can get any color to show....and most of the time it ends up destroying the paper!
These colors, while lovely in the pencil, are far too light on paper. It doesn't matter if you put them on wet or dry -- they barely show up at all.
I just bought a Sizzix and am creating some beautiful die cuts from cream and blush papers for a wedding album and presentation box by Kathy Orta King. These pencils add the perfect delicate watercolor touches.
