Provide a beautiful aged effect and glimmer to your projects when you use the Platinum Crackle Art Extravagance Texture Paste by Prima. This paste is a dense, permanent, metallic platinum paste which provides an antique-looking crackling effect to your projects. The size of crackle will vary depending on the thickness of the layer. It is designed for use with most surfaces including fabric, metal, chipboard, paper, plastic and more. Included is one 8.5 fl. oz. jar of texture paste that can be painted with water-based paints. The texture paste is water-based, archival-safe and non-toxic and can be applied with a palette knife or paintbrush (sold separately).
Platinum is a silver coloured metal. Look it up, it's silvery. This paste? White. It's a white with a pearl-like shine to it. This paste should have been called *PEARL* crackle, because judging by what the picture says, what scrapbook.com's description says, this product should be silvery in colour and it is not. Apparently, if you search around on sb.com, you will see that Prima also sells an "antique silver" crackle paste. But the point is, if you buy this expecting it to conform to the actual meaning and colour of *platinum* you will be disappointed like I am, and also out $10+ when you open the jar to check the colour. If you buy this wanting a white pearl-like finish to your texture paste, this is a good product and conforms to the standards of Prima's pantheon of Art Ingredients.
I love this crackle paste. I have the Golden brand one, but it just doesn't do what I want. This one does a great job of crackling, and it has a really pretty pearly sheen to it.
This texture paste certainly does what it says- it crackles very well (yay). Just note that it is very silvery, and not like the colour on the jar. I thought it was going to come out lighter than it did but it's quite dark.
