This silicone Mat is a game changer! It is great to use with the portable glass mat or the Metal Make Art mat. The fusion in the mat is great for coloring and stamping. Also, it holds the Portable "station" firm in your lap on car trips, or things from sliding when using it in bed or on lap- anywhere it is not flat.
Anyway,when ordering I thought it was another heat mat- It is so much more!
I love Tim Holtz products but this matt was a disappointment. It picks up every piece of lint and dust to be found and that is frustrating! It acts kind of like a floppy magnet for everything I don't want to stick to it.
So grateful to Ranger/Scrapbook.com for offering this 'freebie' on our orders of a certain price last week. THIS is terrific tool and will be used often. It is clear silicone, and so whatever you put underneath you can read/see through it. i love it!!

Not sure I really needed this but WOW! I did! You will love the features of this mat! Silicone lays flat. Non skid. Non stick as advertised. It's see through. Place on top of white to see mixed media colors accurately. Place on top of magnetic mat to anchor items with magnets and see measurements. Stamping bonus: I stamped an image with mat underneath and was surprised that it came out beautifully...more intense than with the Tonic stamp platform! Rolls up to store easily. Excellent size...not too big, not too small. Get one!

I know the mat won�t stain from alcohol ink, but will it stain from archival/permanent inks?

No, permanent type of inks like Archival will not stain the silicone mat.

I have two questions:
You should be able to reverse stamp on the silicone mat but you would need to use an ink other than Archival the juicier the better and your results will be a 2nd generation look not crisp as had you stamped it straight from the stamp to paper.
Will inks stain this mat?

At Ranger we tested everything we make and even Alcohol inks didn't stain this mat. We can't speak to ALL the inks/paints on the market but I would suggest trying a small corner first as a test.

Generally speaking, inks should wipe off of the mat immediately after use. However, since there are so many different formulations for ink, there may be some inks that stain the mat.

Will this also work with model glue? I am looking for a mat to cover the table when my husband is working on his model plane assembly.

The mat will work with model glue but not sure if the glue will come off. Theoretically, it should peel off but I am not familiar with model glue's formula.

If I am using tape runner on a card and I accidentally get it on this mat, will the tape runner rub off?
If the tape runner doesn't come right off by rubbing it try UnDu or Goo Gone and it will come right up.

Recently bought this mat. After opening it, the edges on the bottom and one side are not flat. Is it defective or is there a way to flatten this mat.

Try adding heat with your heat/embossing tool to flatten then place something heavy on top like a stack of books this should retrain it to lay flat.
