This small Dina Wakley media journal is just perfect - each page is thick and will hold any kind of wet media and not bleed through to the opposite page....and it's also the right amount of pages so it doesn't feel overwhelming to be able to finish it.
Love the size of this journal. The pages are extremely thick with texture on both sides. I will play with it to see which media I will use most in it. Straight watercolour or mixed media.
I am delving into creating an art journal and received this the other day. I tried something last night, and am pleased with the results. The paper is heavy enough that it does not need to be gessoed, but I did anyway.

The Dina Wakley Media White Journal includes white heavy weight 440gsm cotton paper 
Im looking for a journal that I can use for writing in using calligraphy. But I also want to have pages for mixed media also. Is this the right book? I need maybe 50 pages. If this isn't it can you tell me where to find what I need? Thank you!

Hello! The Dina Wakley MEDIA 6x6 Journal contains 36 pages of heavyweight cotton paper (it has a texture). It's great for mixed media but may be a bit challenging for calligraphy as the surface definitely has a texture to it. There are a couple of other journals within the Dina Wakley line that have a mixture of smooth and textured papers (also canvas and burlap). Another journal to consider would be the Dylusions Creative Journals; these journals feature a heavyweight, smooth mixed media cardstock, perfect for all types of mixed media techniques as well as calligraphy.
