Tim Holtz - Alcohol Lift-Ink Pad

This is lots of fun. Being able to remove alcohol in from an image leaves a very cool ghosted look.
And then being able to stamp that image on card, genius!
The ink does make the stamp a little slippery/slidey when you place it on top of the alcohol image background, so be careful not to move it at all. Or better yet, use some sort of stamp positioner.

good but a little hard to use

I found that ink must be new, hours old vs a print from weeks ago to get good clear lift. Even so had a lot of incomplete butterflies, stamp I was using most), did figure out but was disappointed that of course it wasn't as easy to do as video showed. Will keep at it though , cool use of alcohol ink

    Alcohol Ink transfer.

I really like the effects that can be obtained with this product.
You can remove color from your project and also transfer this same color to another surface. You can create great images.

  • works well

Definitely does the job. I recommend watching some YouTube videos to get the perfect lift from the alcohol background. Allows me to get 2 background using one technique.

Lifts off your stamped image to create an etherial effect on your alcohol inked backgrounds. Gives another option on how to use alcohol inked backgrounds.

    Dry Ink pad

When I received my ink pad in September 2018 I did not realize the dry was just about dried out. I finally tried it again a year 2019 after reinking the pad. It took 3/4 bottle of reink to moisten the pad which I think is a lot. I still did not get a good left. I plan to continue to try.

Great extender techniques for alcohol inks

I haven't had much time to play with this but it works great. Be sure to watch Tim Holtz's videos on this product.

I think it's necessary to have the bottle AND the stamp pad!

These are amazing at getting rid of any of the ink you've decided not to leave on your art.

I was gifted a new alcohol lift-ink pad, but I don't have any alcohol inks. Is there any other use for these lift-ink pads, or can I use this with other types of inks (water-based dye inks, pigments, distressed inks/oxides, etc.)?   By: User (14-Apr-24) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • Hello, the alcohol lift-ink pad is going to work best with alcohol inks since they do not contain any type of loose pigment. This pad may work with an ink that is alcohol based. • Can the Tim Holtz Alcohol Lift -Ink pad be stored on it side?   By: dsworder (31-Jan-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Don't know for sure. I store all my ink pads flat so the ink won't become uneven. But I am certainly not an ink pad storing expert. You could visit Tim Holtz web page and ask him directly. Good luck! By: Pamellia (01-Feb-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • Has anyone tried this stuff yet? Does it lift alcohol ink better than Versamark does? Does it "stamp" alcohol ink better than just using blending solution on a foam pad? Thanks.   By: ppilgrim (25-Jul-18) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
