The Matte Black Alcohol Ink Cardstock by Tim Holtz for Ranger Ink is ideal for a variety of mixed media techniques including alcohol inks, watercolors and more. Included in the package are 10 sheets of cardstock measuring 5" x 7". The sturdy cover weight surfaces dry quickly and resist buckling.
I saw Simon Hurley recommend using this paper as black card stock because of it's weight and the texture it has, so I thought I'd give it a whirl.
I did like it with die cuts as the texture is better than regular card stock. The image sits higher and it more prominent. The sheen on the paper, however, tends to pick up smudges pretty easily, so that's just something to be careful about when using.
This is an awesome product! I use the Alcohol Pearl Inks with this, and it creates some pretty cool designs for cards. Especially if you are making cards for men. The Gears dies that I use to cut out after I've made a few samples really stand out on a card. The inks don't run as easily as they do on the white alcohol ink cardstock, so you have to use a straw to blow your ink around or tip your cardstock from side to side. You will love the results once they dry!!
