Distress Inks by Tim Holtz are perfect for adding a vintage, stained, or aged effect to your altered books, scrapbook pages, cards and paper craft projects. This is a magic color! That's why everyone loves it. Tea Dye was designed to darken the edges of artwork with a blending tool created by Ranger. Tons of demos on-line. What it does is smear thin misty layers without harsh solid color. The technique takes a little practice but once you have it down you will never never go back. Originally Tim Holtz was going for a vintage, distressed look, and this does all that. But it goes on to do a whole lot more especially since the ink pad line was originally designed around this color. Combining other colors with the blending tool create some fabulous results. Honestly Tea Dye is not for use with rubber stamps because the color is too transparent (tone-on-tone stamping is o.k.). If you like the aged look of paper and photographs this is it (yes Distress Ink Pads can color actual modern photographs!). If you love rusty iron you can get there with a few other colors in this line. If you want a more "dirty" background with other colors Tea Dye will help you get there as well. If you buy only one of these pads this is the one to get.
Tea dye is a great light brown color. The color is not a light as it appears online -- it is more of a light and warm (yellowy) brown color. It is great for light distressing or for inking backgrounds for a vintage look.

I really like the Tim Holtz inks. The ink pads are raised up so it's really easy to rub them across edges of paper or even across a flat page. The tea dye is a great color to add that old-worn-paper look to your items. Or you can crumple a piece of paper and rub ink on the raised creases to get a look like is shown on the lid of the ink pad.

This inks are the best! They come in a lot of colors and they're perfect for inking paper. One of the things I love the best too is that if you use this ink on a rubber/clear stamp you get this really great aged look. i just LOVE these!!!

I love tim holtz inks .......this is my go-to color! ....use it for distressing, inking my edges, stamping "faded" images, subtle color and shading, and to tone down bright colors! ....versatile!

First time purchasing this product and love it! Used it on my paper punch flowers and simply love the way it looks! Easy to use and easy to clean up. Great medium!
I was so excited to purchase this product I could barely wait to tear open the package and start stamping. I was surprised to see how sheer the ink appeared on my pages. This product takes some practice...especially for a novice scrapper like myself. At first I was turned off and disappointed, but I gave it try after try, and found out that it's more of a multi-purpose ink pad, not just a stamp pad. Try using your fingers to smudge the ink around paper and photo corners for a very soft vintage effect, its actually quite nice when you find your niche with it!

I like These colors especially for doing edges but, the ink pad is surrounded by so much edge that it makes it hard to get some angles without using a dauber or some other applicator.
I really like this color. As with all of the Tim Holtz line of stamps, the ink is always a great performer.
