Questions & Answers
  • I'm new to card making and not quite sure I understand what embossing power is and does. How do I work it into my cards? Thank you.   By: crobinson2116 (12-Jan-21) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Embossing powder is a heat activated product. You use a sticky pad that has embossing liquid on it. You can stamp with it or use it to cover a whole area, like a die cut. You carefully sprinkle the powder and tap the excess back into the jar. I recommend a powder tool before you stamp so the powder goes only where you want it. Then using a heat gun you slowly move the heat over the item until you see it turn shiny. That area is now protected. You can ink over it, do mixed media, and cut it out to make your own embellishments. There are so many ways to use it. You'll enjoy that blue color and also can use clear or white powder too. Some have added sparkle, like glitter. Just play around with it. You'll be amazed at the awesome effects it can create. Hope this helps! Aloha!
