I've had trouble recently with my roller TAPE (different brand) and had intended to try a different tape runner, but ordered the dots instead. Am I glad I goofed!
The "dots" are tiny - they aren't like the "dot" adhesives, that come in circle sizes of varying diameters. They are tiny dots, arranged in a pattern, than go on in a strip about the same width as a standard tape roller. If used like a standard roller - they work the same.
BUT...here's the good part... if you run it over something like, say, a punched strip or a cut-out image that has minimal surface area, the little dots on the strip adhere only to the back of the paper and the rest are just left behind on the waste paper. So, you can run it over short sections of a punched strip and then adhere, rather than running it through something like a Xyron sticker maker - using less adhesive! It's cost-effective!
I'm looking forward to trying the TAPE next - what I'd originally intended. But am I glad I goofed!

I received this Adhesive Dots Roller Thursday when I picked up my order. I had ordered the Permanent Adhesive 6 pack so this was an extra treat for me. I have used both the dots and the strips and I love them both. They go on so smoothly and the roller operates perfectly. I will definitely use both from now on. The price is right and there is 32 feet on each roll.
I have the Scotch adhesive applicator gun however it is too big for some things and doesn't always lay down evenly anyway. And using glue dots for everything else seemed wasteful. So I decided to give the "dots" roller a try. I thought the dots would not have the same problems with starting and stopping -- and so far I am correct. I have been VERY happy with this roller. I can put it on big or little embellishments (but not tiny ones) and it goes on just where I want it and the item sticks where I put it. I plan to purchase more of them.
I prefer the dot rollers to the tape runners. They are better at coverage and easier to use. I will be ordering more when these get used up. I hope the price stays low as that is a big selling point also.
I have just tried this new adhesive dots roller and I'm very pleased with it. It goes on very smoothly and is good for straight lines and curves. I haven't had any problem with tearing or getting stuck. It would be nice if it were refillable.
The design of this dot roller is very sleek and easy to hold. The thing that impressed me the most about it was the coverage. It gives a clean 1/4 inch line with no interruptions.
Now for the thing that I didn't like about it. My daughter and I made exploding boxes using the dot runner. After two days, the tape released and the box lids began falling apart.
My analysis of this is...If you normally use tape runners, this one is a must have. For projects needed stronger adhesive, stick to Scor Tape.
I tried the glue dots roller as it was on sale but found it didn't do a good job of sticking on quite a few of my papers and so used more but still it didn't stick cardstock to cardstock or paper very well.
