Now your Scrapbook.com ink pad is rejuvenated and ready for more creative projects.
But don’t limit the reinker to just extending the life of your ink pad - it has many other creative uses as well! Here are some fun ideas of what else you can use them for:
What is the difference between dye, pigment and hybrid ink?
Dye inks are water-based and literally dye your paper. The ink is soaked up by the paper or cardstock so they tend to dry fast. Pigment inks are made of tiny particles that will sit on top of your paper and will take a longer time to dry. They tend to be brighter, with a denser saturation of color and work well with dark colors of cardstock. They are also great for heat embossing since they stay wet longer. Hybrid inks are the best of the two ink types (dye and pigment) as they have properties of both inks. They also tend to be more translucent in their appearance. Hybrid inks are suitable for all skill levels of crafters due to their compatibility with multiple mediums and surfaces.
What are color families?
The Scrapbook.com Hybrid Inks are designed in color families. Each color family has four individual colors numbered 1 through 4 (1 being the lightest shade in the group and 4 being the darkest shade of the group). Color families are an extremely important aspect of layered stamping because each of the four colors coordinates together to achieve a dimensional, layered look. Every Hybrid Ink Pad has the color family name and the color family number clearly labeled on the lid along with the name of the ink pad and the ink shade. NOTE: The 1 color for some color families is designed to be an incredibly light whisper of a shade for that group.

I thought this would be good for silhouette type stamps. There were good reviews in general. I found the ink not so different for impressions and it really did NOT fair well with silhouettes (large solid areas). In fact it mottles. Oxide inks actually do better as does Versafine.
The colour is nice, very close to espresso in the ranger line. It doesn't spread quite as well as it doesn't have the same properties. That being said you can edge pages with it but you have to be careful how you rub it with the dauber, because it doesn't spread the same way
The container is a bit of a nuisance to open!!! OMG - please change that.
I still gave it 4-star - bec it acts like a regular ink with regular stamps and the price point isn't bad - so it is a way to get some colours without paying a fortune - which may be the point of this set.
Recommendation - I would rather see Scrapbook.com do better and perhaps make a specialty ink - e.g. really good solid ink stamping - so far I haven't found a brand that does it very well. There are plenty of low budget inks on the market and although this one is better for what it does - there is actually a need for a solid stamping ink.
BTW - I tried this ink and purchased the Hero Arts Shadow ink. The latter is ok as well but also did not perform as expected on solids.

This color was needed for the wood group. I notice that it looks like the wood group and Tan group, together, seem like they will go well with each other to give even more variety. I really like these inks.

I find black a bit harsh for stamping. This is a very nice dark brown which I prefer. And for leaves and fall/autumn stamps ideal color.
I love this color for stamping my chocolate designs. Mixed with a couple other shade of brown it looks like a mixed box of chocolates when I finish.
