To use, simply shake the bottle, squeeze a few drops on the ink pad surface and work the ink evenly into the pad with the bottle nozzle. It’s that easy! Now your Scrapbook.com ink pad is rejuvenated and ready for more creative projects.

But don’t limit the reinker to just extending the life of your ink pad - it has many other creative uses as well! Here are some fun ideas of what else you can use them for:

  • Add ink splatter or splotches to your projects
  • Add fun colors to your texture or modeling pastes
  • Use water and create wonderful watercolor effects
  • Create your own mists
  • Add color to your embellishments

What is the difference between dye, pigment and hybrid ink?

Dye inks are water-based and literally dye your paper. The ink is soaked up by the paper or cardstock so they tend to dry fast. Pigment inks are made of tiny particles that will sit on top of your paper and will take a longer time to dry. They tend to be brighter, with a denser saturation of color and work well with dark colors of cardstock. They are also great for heat embossing since they stay wet longer. Hybrid inks are the best of the two ink types (dye and pigment) as they have properties of both inks. They also tend to be more translucent in their appearance. Hybrid inks are suitable for all skill levels of crafters due to their compatibility with multiple mediums and surfaces.

What are color families?

The Scrapbook.com Hybrid Inks are designed in color families. Each color family has four individual colors numbered 1 through 4 (1 being the lightest shade in the group and 4 being the darkest shade of the group). Color families are an extremely important aspect of layered stamping because each of the four colors coordinates together to achieve a dimensional, layered look. Every Hybrid Ink Pad has the color family name and the color family number clearly labeled on the lid along with the name of the ink pad and the ink shade. NOTE: The 1 color for some color families is designed to be an incredibly light whisper of a shade for that group.

Tips for use:

  • Hybrid inks have a fast drying time and are not recommended for heat embossing.
  • The ink can potentially stain your stamps - be sure to clean your stamps immediately after each use with hybrid inks.

    Hybrid Fail

I purchased the complete kit and I am a bit disappointed in some of the colors. When I first got the inks, I made a swatch of each color and used some layering stamps to see how the colors really worked together. After a little over 2 weeks, ballet slipper and pink flamingo are no longer pink but are a yellowy oily color. Buttercream is fading and honeycomb and camel look like a sickly green. These colors were so beautiful when stamped and I am now embarrassed to know that cards I've made with these inks will not last the test of time.

    These are fantastic inks!

These inks are completely on par with any other high-quality inks out there. They stamp crisply and beautifully, and the color layering system is fantastic. Highly recommend them!

    My new favorite ink pads

These ink pads have become a new favorite of mine. I love that each ink pad has its own specific color family. There are four of each color family and the best part is they are numbered for you. Perfect for those buildable stamps from Altenew and hero arts. I also love that they are Hybrid so they don’t move with water. I do have a little trick for those who found the bottom part of the ink pad to thin to hold up and ink your stamps. If you add the lid to the bottom it will make it thick enough for you to hold up and ink your stamps.
Totally recommend them especially for buildable Stamp lovers and cards makers.

    Very pleased

IAt first I was very disappointed with these stamp pads.
When I stamped a solid image of a deer after making the background, the deer showed the pattern of the stamp pad. I tried it several different times but it looked awful and ruined My card. I was really surprised because I loved the way I'd seen them used to do layering for flowers in a video. I am however, very pleased with Scrapbooking. Com as I wrote Them about the problem and They're allowing Me to return them. Well, I saw a video about New Stamps having a film on them and that if you rough up the stamp, it will take the color better. I did this to the Deer I mentioned above and I was so happy it worked and I'm keeping the Ink Pads!
I love this Site for Card making supplies and the prices are very competitive, and the shipping is fast. I'll definitely continue to buy here. 5 stars to Service too!! Thanks so much!

    Amazing colour!

I splurged and got the whole set! So glad I did. Love the colour saturation and the ease it gives at layering. Watched a few of your videos and got a great idea, made colour swatches of all my inks. Makes it super easy to play and match with colours not in the same grouping. I recommend these inks to everyone. The hybrid inks fit into a space in my inking and colouring process I did not even know I had!

  • I'm interested in buying the complete set of hybrid ink pads, but I'm concerned about the review that Dani K gave because she said the colors fade into sickly shades. Is this a problem that others have found?   By: BB3311 (05-Feb-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!

    • I have the complete set and opened every color to make a personal color chart. I found the daffodil yellow pad was not glued to the container and fell out. Eight of the colors had dry spots and the ink was not distributed evenly: Honeycomb yellow, Ballgown blue, Glass slipper. Sky blue, Caribbean blue, Soft Lavender, Parisian purple, and Fog. Pink Lemonade turned gray after stamping twice. Butter Cream orange , Glass slipper , Ballet slipper pink and Pink Flamingo faded into nothing. Pear green doesn’t resemble a pear color at all and there is very little difference between Guacamole and Succulent green all of which remind me of pea soup. Not pretty. I’m a 30 year expert stamper...taught many classes and worked retail. I would not recommend these inks that behave like a generic craft brand. I gave them to my grand daughter. I will stick with Memento. By: parkerick (19-Feb-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • Can Scrapbook.com - Premium Hybrid Ink Pads be used wil Spellbinders - BetterPress?   By: roxstar001 (06-Dec-23) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!

    • Hello, we have not tested our inks with the Spellbinders- BetterPress system. Spellbinders advise that for optimal impressions, use BetterPress Ink. Traditional dye inks also provide a beautiful, clean transfer, as do Archival Inks; however, neither give the rich impression that you get from BetterPress Ink because of the dye level. Pigment inks tend to create a blurry transfer and are messy to work with on the press plates and magnetic platform. By: Scrapbook.com (15-Dec-23) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you!
