Spellbinders Platinum 6 Machine

“This machine will make your die-cutting and embossing life so much easier. I enjoy using my machine and find it easy to use, easy to move and easy to wind the handle. It is not too heavy and will sit nicely on your desk. Sturdy and folds up to carry. Lots of different plates and mats available to mix & match to your machine. Overall a great machine to use with your projects.” – AnnmarieVaux

My New Favorite Die Cutting Machine

“This is a great die cutting machine and will meet all my regular die cutting and embossing needs. I like the size of the platform and that it folds up to make the machine so compact when it's not in use. I also like that the machine comes with the tan embossing mat which I like to use for embossing the edges of my Nestabilities dies. This machine is very sturdy and the plates glide through very smoothly with minimal popping noises as other reviewers have mentioned. Because it fits so compactly on my workspace, this is the machine I will be reaching for from now on!” – mercytiara

Great for Die Cutting

“I am a newbie at die cutting and I found this machine incredibly easy to use for someone new to it all. The instructions are easy for anyone to figure out and its really user friendly. I also love that you can die cut and emboss. It's also easy to move around to different spots in the house or to a friends for crafting/scrapbooking.” – Valerie33

    Worth Every Penny!!!

For years I longed to own a die cut and embossing machine, but held back because of certain limitations or bad reviews from buyers. My main motivations for purchasing the Spellbinder's Platinum 6 from Scrapbook.com.

    • Smooth and quiet operation. No cracking or popping noises during operation.

    • Multi-media cutting and embossing capabilities it can process a wide array of materials.

    • The Platinum's platforms fold up and the handle retracts to form a sleek and compact exterior design–making storage an absolute breeze.

    • It was on $ale!!!

    Platinum 6 For The Win

I have been fortunate enough or maybe not so much to have owned a Cuttlebug, a Big Shot, and now a Platinum 6. I first purchased the Cuttlebug and was very shortly disenchanted because I couldn't fit my steel rule dies through it. Which led me to purchasing the Big Shot because I could fit the steel rule dies and other 6" wide items through it. This was several years ago and it was my only other option at the time. But over time I became sick of this huge die cutting machine taking up precious desk space all the time. I die cut often enough that I didn't want to have to put a die cutter away and take it out over and over again. I wanted something that could sit on my work surface and not take up too much room. Because I had already invested in 2 other machines it took me a while but I finally was able to get the Platinum 6 and I am so happy that I bit the bullet and did. It's the perfect combination of form and function. Right out of the box I ran a 3D embossing folder through it and it came out clear and crisp. The handle is a strong metal and it was very easy to turn and get the thick embossing folder through. I then tested it on some super intricate dies and was very pleased. And yes it fits my steel rule dies. I wanted to be able to cut leather, cork and fabric and I like the ability to cut multiples at one time. It's a huge time saver for me. Oh and did I mention it's super cute on my desk too. Happy shopper here :)

    Platinum 6

I absolutely love this machine. I have the Grand Calibur and love it also but at times it is so much larger than I need, I also have the Sapphire and am loving it also because it is great for the tiny things, kind of like the Three
Bears, Papa, Mama and Just Right! I believe the machines to be superior because they are quieter and smoother to operate. Not as cumbersome as the Sizzix products.

  • Love it!

The Platinum 6 Die Cutting machine is simply great because you can use it for different die cutting and embossing needs since it comes with the standard platform, clear cutting plates, an embossing plate and mat! It is also so storage friendly which is just another bonus! I can easily fold the panels to put it in my cabinet. By the way, the first thing I noticed when I used this machine, is that it is quieter than others. When you run a die cut through, you won't hear (scary!) cracking or popping noises so there's no need to fear that your cutting pad will break in two. :) So overall, great machine that I'd recommend to anyone.

  • Strong, Sturdy and well-designed

I've had quite a few die cutting machines in my time and this is one of the best. It looks great, and because the platforms fold up it takes little space on the desk when not in use.
I've had the machine a few months now, but I think I'm still learning the best way to use it for different materials, and which sandwiches to use for best results. Like all things, its worth taking the time to experiment!
My one 'issue' is that it's still very stiff and hard work turning the handle when cutting some dies and cardstock. I have a shoulder problem so this is a real concern when I'm doing a lot of die-cutting and embossing. Hopefully the machine will get 'easier in time - I saw somewhere that there might be a motor attachment in the pipeline and that would be really fab for me. On the meantime if anyone has a solution, or suggestions that would help, I'd love to hear then,

  • Hello All!
I am wondering a few things here and hope you all can help me out. How much this fabulous sounding invention weighs?
I have shoulder and wrist instability due to Ehler-Danlos Syndrome and am limited as to what I can carry. What are the handles like, the carry and the crank? What have you found to be the best way to store dies?

  • Can you use other brands of foils with the Spellbinders hot foil plates?   By: Cathy Holman (01-Oct-18) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!

    • I believe as long as you use “heat activated” foils it should work. The Go Press and Foil machine has foils that should work. Other foil machines do not use the same heat activated method and you cannot put dies through them. These would include the Minc type machines. Their foils won’t work. There are some great videos on YouTube that demonstrates the differences. I hope this helps! By: micatty (03-Oct-18) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you!
