This two piece Stylish Merry Christmas etched die set is part of the Celebrate the Season Collection from Spellbinders. This die set features the words Merry Christmas in contemporary font and its outline. These dies are compatible with leading die cutting machines (sold separately). These dies can be used on cards, scrapbook pages, journals, planners, and other paper crafting and mixed media projects. The Merry Christmas insert measures 4.12" x 2.46" and the outline measures 4.32" x 2.66".
The letters are all individual, and VERY THIN. It can be DIFFICULT to position them correctly on the background diecut.
They're also so thin they're easily lost before you have the chance to glue them down!
I usually only buy sentiment dies in which the letters are CONNECTED to each other, but I liked this look. Unfortunately, I won't be using it often.
You will get two sentiments from these directions: First: cut two background outlines out of scraps. Next cut the background outline with the letters inside out of two fancy or patterned papers that coordinate. Next, put adhesive on the scrap backgrounds, then adhere the fancy backgrounds to the base/ scrap backgrounds, saving all the letters and insides of the a’s and R’s. Then add the contrasting letters to each sentiment. It’s not as time consuming as it may sound! I had a ball making extra sentiments with various papers just to see the results! I liked it so much, I bought the similar Happy Birthday sentiment and made up a bunch of these too!
I am so happy with this die set that I don't know what to do! I love the thin letters of the sentiment and that it has the shadow die to go with it. I read the reviews and saw that there might be a snag to it, but someone gave a hint/tip that will really make it easy to place the letters, since they are not attached, so I went ahead and bought the set. I love the gracefulness of the font style and I like the size of the lettering. I like that the word, "Christmas," is the larger size. The dies are both very well-made and very sturdy--another plus. The wording will stand out on the front of an A-2 size card and larger.
I am so very happy with this die set/purchase and so glad to have it, finally.
