This three piece Stitched Kaleidoscope Strip etched thin metal die set is part of the Spring Into Stitching Collection from Spellbinders. This die set features three different strips that can be layered together for a dimensional design. They can also be used as embroidered strips, with the cut dots acting as a guide for stitching the patterns with embroidery floss and needles (sold separately). These dies are compatible with leading die cutting machines (sold separately). These designs are perfect for a slimline card or a border piece. These dies measure 8.5" x 1.17". Note from Spellbinders: It is recommended that you use two strands of the six strand DMC Floss or DMC Metallic Thread and size 22 tapestry needles (all sold separately) for optimum results when embroidering these designs.
Just received this die set yesterday, and have already made four stitched strips for cards. It has just the right amount of stitching to be satisfying to produce, and the results are beautiful. My favorite so far is using a double strand of Sulky gold metallic embroidery thread (intended for the sewing machine); it's a fine thread, and when doubled gives wonderful results. This die could be used for anything from "thinking of you" to get well or Christmas cards, depending on the threads used.
