These styfftainers are perfect for those little ink cubes. I put that no slide stuff on the bottom and my Memento Dew Drops fit perfect.

I store my wood mounted stamps by theme in these. You can easily lable the sides and the front hang tab. I go right over the hole for hanging. So all Valentine's, Easter, etc...
I bought several of these previously and love the way they display the wood mount stamps that I have. I'm able to file them on their sides in the bottom of drawer of my file cabinet. A "must have" for paper crafters.
I love these and use then for several different things. I have stored my wood mount stamps in them for years and now putting some stamp pads in them. A friend stores her scraps in them as they are easy to see what is in there. Easy to take with you. My wish is that the lid could be totally removable and the whole case more sturdy but can't see how that is going to happen. These are good cases and easy to take with you if you are going to places.
Someone posted about this product on Pinterest as a way to organize and store paper scraps. It was just what I needed! Now I don't have to rummage through ALL my scraps to find a piece of the right color. What a time and aggravation saver!! They are sturdy and the thick ones I bought hold an amzing amount of paper. These 8-1/2" X 11" clear plastic containers are ideal for storing wood block stamps. Over several years, I've purchased over 100 to hold my wood mounted rubber stamps. For those just getting into "yesteryear " stamps, you will not find a better storage option. Label them and store flat or upright in magazine files.
They are also the perfect size to store packs of 8-1/2" X 11" cardstock.
I also use them to take kits to my cardmaking classes.

Are these hinged at the bottom; and if yes, are they easy to open without an explosion of stored items going everywhere?

They are hinged at the bottom and if you hold the bottom with one hand while you open, it should open without an explosion.
