These Thinlits are beautiful dies that are similar in structure to Spellbinders D-Lites. I've cut this one on both the Grand Caliber and the Big Shot without problems. If paper is thin, you may need to use a piece of card stock underneath the die so cutting is sharp and through and through on both machines. Don't forget to put waxed paper between the media you are using and the die so you can remove cut easier.
love it though make sure you cut with enough pressure (ie shim) because those little areas are hard to get if they do not cut all the way thru
This die is a great addition to my card making dies. My granddaughters will love their next birthday cards.

Does this work with the Cuttlebug machine? or the Sizzix Vintaj Special Edition BIGkick Die Cut Machine

Yes, it worked with a Cuttlebug. I had to play with it a bit however to get the right amount of shim in there. To get mine to cut out nicely this is how I did it: Plate A; Plate B; the die; wax paper; 3 pieces of average weight, not too heavy, card stock; and Plate C. Then I rolled it through back and forth a few times and it cut very nicely. Using wax paper between the die and the card stock always makes it much easier to remove the cut out. The image is lovely and although I haven't actually made anything with it yet, I will soon! Hope this helps!

Can Thinlits dies be used to cut thin metal craft sheets?

I have not cut any thin metal craft sheets with any dies but I'm pretty sure they should work if the metal craft sheets are thin. You can send in an email to Sizzix help or call them directly, I'm sure they can answer your question. In videos I have seen they do say you can cut thin metal crafts sheets.

I am new at this and I bought this fanciful fairy but, I do not know what I need to use it. I have the sizzix sophisticut die cutting machine. All I have with it are the standard cutting pads. What do I need to use the thinlits die?

The thinlits should cut good using very thin craft metal sheets. I've used a number of thinlits dies, and you can also cut them with the Grand Caliber machine made by Spellbinders as well as the Sizzix Big Shot. I bought the Sizzix extended magnetic platform which works very well with all the dies, and the extended multipurpose platform also works very well. What tab 2 means is all tabs are closed and dies are run through like that. They cut very well though you will have to use a pin or other tool to removed them from the dies. The die cuts are beautiful and very intricate, and look good on cards and even painted wood boards.
