Decorate your home in style this holiday season using the Winter Lantern Thinlits Die Set that is part of the 'Tis the Season Collection by Sizzix. One lantern features beautiful poinsettias and the other depicts a candle in the window. This set includes 10 thin metal dies that measure from .375" x .375" to 2.875" x 4.5". The dies are designed to cut, emboss or stencil a single sheet of cardstock, paper, metallic foil or vellum. They are compatible with the BIGkick, Big Shot and Vagabond machines, sold separately.
I've made several lanterns using the three different fronts. They are so nice. I was disappointed in Sizzix's poorly presented project sheet and had to figure this die out on my own. There is nothing else on the internet to go by at the present time, not even Pinterest. I recommend assembling them with tear away tape, as it holds the sides together well. Glues and the red tape do not work as well.
BTW, the larger poinsettia seems to look better on the bottom of the lantern, maybe because I embellished the top.
So, excellent designed product, poor project sheet.
I love these little lanterns and made seventeen of them so far. The dies made them very easy to put together and you can mix and match the designs which are just perfect for the winter. I put in a piece of Vellum on the inside and it really makes the lanterns glow. Beverly Larson
Love this lil lantern and need to make 24 of them for table decorations.
HOWEVER, the instructions are poorly lacking. I tried utube - nothing, I wrote to you - response was the same picture of instructions that came with the product. I am playing with this and I'm sure I will finally get it!
I ordered tea lights with timers and a 5 inch mirror coaster to set each of these on - thought the reflection would be pretty on the tables.

I did figure it out. Simply place the "design" inside the panel piece.
I use a clear plate. plastic shim, magnetic plate, die, glimmer card stock, clear plate. Needed to run it through three times. I am using the new Gemini Junior. I will use my Big Shot on the next one to see if it will cut better.
The end result is a very cute lantern. It will be a cute "take away" for my guests.
I love them , I have made one for each place setting on the table. I wish they came in a larger size.
Have made several and easy to do. They are great for Christmas
around the house with votive candles ! Fun to make, BUY THE DIE!
Smaller than I expected but good quality. Very pleased

Just cut one out. It is approximately 4 1/4 inches tall (without handle). Handle adds about one inch depending on placement. It is 2 1/2 inches wide. Cuts beautifully and options are endless as you can use substitute other dies in the panels for any season.

Three inches from the base to the peak of the lantern is three inches excluding the handle.
