Open the spooky gates to some terrifying Halloween fun when you get creative with the Gate Keeper Thinlits Die Set designed by Tim Holtz for Sizzix. Included in the set are 9 thin metal dies that are compatible with the BIGkick, Big Shot, and Vagabond machines (sold separately). The dies are designed to cut, emboss or stencil a single sheet of cardstock, paper, metallic foil or vellum.
Thought these were awesome. I do love them but boy are lines thin. If using heavy weight cardstock they are very sturdy. Very cool
Until I found the right weight of paper I found it hard to cut out without tearing parts of the gate. I used a 65 lb foil cardstock paper and used wax paper behind it and the images came out perfect. The sheen on the paper gave it a realistic feel also.

The gate has a lot of detail in both the base and layer piece. I love that you can also choose to have a full moon or a tiny sliver. The bats are a great addition as well. I think this die has a lot versatility in its uses and can be for more than just Halloween makes.

I really, really like this die! I was looking for more spooky things to add to a project that I am currently working on. And this is definitely it! If your looking for something fun and creative with a spooky look? This is it!! I would recommend this die to everyone!
These spooky gates are great for Halloween cards or to even dress up a non-Halloween specific card.
There's 9 dies in this set and most are really useful and add a lot of atmosphere to a card. I have to use a precision plate with my Big Shot to get crisp and clean die cuts. One of the die cuts extra scroll pieces for the gate and the thin straight rail pieces to add dimension but as a senior with arthritis in my hands, those pieces are just so small, even using tweezers, it's too much bother for me. The bats are small, one is tiny but still a cool effect and the moon has 2 pieces that cut a sliver or a rather odd-shaped moon. All in all this is a nice die set and looks great with a scene behind it or the TH Thinlets haunted house. I'm glad I purchased this! I can see it will be well used.
Love these dies. Although the parts are pretty small and a wee bit hard to line up, they come out looking very good. Makes for a ghoulish Halloween card!
