Questions & Answers
  • Is the blade self sharpening please?   By: angela57 (23-Apr-21) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Self sharpening is usually associated with a rotary trimmer, not a guillotine trimmer. Tonic's guillotines actually shear the paper instead of cutting it. In the case of cutting paper, shearing is when the handle metal blade meets the bottom metal edge on the trimmer and cuts the paper that is in between the two pieces of metal. Shearing blades are not sharp like an edge of a knife, but mostly flat. Shearing blades tend to last much longer.....years and years before needing replacing. Blades that need sharpening will dull more and more after each use and require that you take them off and get them sharpened. All of Tonic's guillotine trimmers use the shearing method. We believe you will be very happy with your cutting results. By: Tonic Studios (24-Apr-21) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
