This easy to use platform is engineered to ensure stamping perfection and makes layered stamping a breeze. You’re going to wonder how you’ve been stamping for so long without it!

Contents:

  • One sturdy magnetic base plate
  • Two high magnetic strength neodymium magnets
  • One dual-thickness metal hinged stamping cover with gridlines

Size:

9.5” x 11.5” platform that features an 8.5” x 8.5” stamp base

The platform is designed for use with your clear or rubber cling stamps; the switchable acrylic hinged lid is marked one side for clear and the reverse side for rubber! The gridlines on the lid help you easily align your stamps, so that you can ensure that your stamped impressions are straight every time on your projects. The platform features a non-slip base to prevent any movement while you’re working and has an open outer edge allowing you to use sheets of paper up to 12” x 12”.

So, in what ways can you creatively use this platform? Use it as a tool when using your clear or rubber stamps to create cards, pages, tags layouts, and other paper crafting projects. Try creating a layered water colored look by using Tim Holtz Distress Markers and Inks (sold separately). The Stamp Platform is perfect for any mixed media project that you have in mind!

How to use for clear or rubber stamps:

  • Select your paper (cardstock, watercolor, smooth, or mixed media)
  • Lift the acrylic lid and choose either the clear or rubber side and replace the lid
  • Align your paper up with the raised guides located on the edges of the magnetic base
  • Place your magnets on opposite sides of the paper to secure your paper (keep magnets separated)
  • Place your stamp on your paper, face down, on your desired location
  • Close the lid so that your stamp adheres to the lid
  • Open the lid and choose your ink and ink up your stamp
  • Close the lid again and apply pressure to your stamp
  • Lift the lid to reveal your stamped image.
  • Repeat for multiples of the same project or remove the paper by taking off magnets

How to use for water coloring:

  • Choose your watercolor cardstock
  • Place your paper on the magnetic surface, securing it with the magnets
  • Choose your stamp and place it in your desired location on your cardstock
  • Close the lid to transfer the stamp from your paper to the lid
  • Choose your favorite Tim Holtz Distress Markers (sold separately)
  • Add color to the stamp and lightly spray with water
  • Close the lid and apply pressure to the stamp
  • Open the lid, wipe color off the stamp with a Stamp Shammy and apply your next color
  • Continue to add color to achieve a layered look on your project
  • When finished, use your heat tool to dry stamped image

How to clean the Stamp Platform:

  • Choose your stamp cleaner or Stamp Shammy (solvent, hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes and more)
  • Do not use acetone or nail polish remover on the surface
  • Rub gently with a cloth until clean

The Stamp Platform is designed solely with stampers in mind! Just think about how much paper you’re going to save with this tool. If you have a large project of multiples, the platform is going to ensure that you have accurate positioning every time and the clean-up is always a breeze!

Be sure to check out the Storage Zipper Sleeve making it easy to store your Stamp Platform (ton-1710e) for on-the-go stamping (sold separately). You can even get the Stamp Platform and Sleeve TOGETHER here!

Tips:

  • Avoid getting ink on the guide rails
  • Do not use acetone or nail polish remover to clean the Stamp Platform
  • Re-ink your stamp and stamp again to achieve a deeper color

    Perfect Layered Imagess Everytime!!!

True confession: I'm the worlds worst stamper! So when Tonic and Misti hit the scene, I was so excited about buying one of them. After researching both, I decided that Tim Holtz's platform was the perfect choice for me. I'm super impressed with Tim's no fuss dual purpose design (cards and layouts) and the quality of its construction is honestly a vintage throwback to the old rotary phones! The magnets are thick and strong. They don't pinch my fingers or seem prone to breakage. It's definitely not a 'me too' tool and I could go on and on about its thoughtful design, ease of use, superior quality and excellent value. I especially love that it's designed in a way that it doesn't require any consumables to remain useful. I also love the fact that I can use spray inks without worrying about clean-up or damaging the plastic plates. Even thought its sturdy and hefty, its light weight enough to easily stash in my card class tote or take on a crop. I'm amazed at how easy it is to create remarkably detailed images perfectly, layer after layer, color after color, press after press! The Stamp Platform by Tim Holtz has exceeded all of my expectations, put the fun back into stamping for me and its by far the most useful tool I've purchased in a long, long time! If you love stamping, this tool will not disappoint!

I am a loyal MISTI fan.....

Having said that, I will also say that I am a Tim Holtz fan. While his distressed style doesn't appeal to me, many other things do. As I waited to see how the functional differences between MISTI and Tim's stamping platform shook out, I can see there are enough differences between the two tools that I'm thinking they probably settled the patent issue, possibly was a settlement and thus the Tonic platform was allowed to ship again. And I bought one. It is a heavy-duty tool, make no mistake - solid construction, hinges aren't plastic.... And it is bigger than my MISTI (I bought the first one) and yes, I can use the new platform do stamps right on 12x12 pages. I had no intention of buying a new MISTI to do that. As for stamp quality, the two tools are virtually the same EXCEPT that I do find the MISTI to be easier to use at this point and that could be just because I am so familiar with it.

In closing I will say that I will not be lugging the Tonic platform to crops when my light little MISTI does just fine!

    Worth the wait!

Sturdy, well designed, with great attention to detail for the things that matter most to stampers.
    -Sharp stamping
    -Ease of cleaning
-Ability to be able to spray wet media without damaging any of the surfaces (I've only experimented with light mists just in case)
    -Very intuitive
-Ability to stamp using rubber or clear stamps
    -Strong magnets
    -Well designed hinge mechanism

I have a clear stamp that has a lot of detail and it was hard to get a clean impression. After looking at the stamp closely, it appears to be thinner than regular clear stamps. Placing a couple of pieces of paper underneath did the trick. This appears to be an isolated case with this one particular stamp because the others in the set stamped fine.

I'm delighted with my purchase and it was well worth the wait!

  • Fantastic

Received this wonderful product yesterday and love it!
Strong and well made, should last forever. Works perfectly and would give it a 10 star review if I could....cost delayed me, a few moments but it is worth every cent. Happy I got it, before you were out of stock....appreciated the email letting me know when they became in-stock. The Misty is way too expensive and this Stamp Platform is right on the mark...great job Mr Holtz!
    Fast shipping, thanks.....

If you have hand issues or suffer from arthritis--GET THIS!

Extremely happy with purchase! I've gone back and forth between the MISTI and the TH Stamp Platform. In the end, the TH Platform won.

    Why?

*Price. Hands down--I don't believe in spending huge sums on something as basic as this. The MISTI, is just way overpriced.

*Size/Weight--The Platform is the perfect size for my card needs, plus, as its open on two sides, I can accommodate larger sizes of paper by turning them. The weight is a good, solid one. Others have complained it is too heavy, I disagree...you want a solid platform with the non-skid on the bottom so it doesn't slide all over when you stamp. This is quality construction folks.

*Rubber/Clear capability--LOVE this option. The hinges are very solid construction and easy to switch from one side to the other. When you switch, you hear a very audible 'click' and it goes right in. Again, the keyword here is 'solid construction'.

*Ease of Use--I am only 49 years old, but have severe arthritis (!). Stamping and making sure everything is lined up and looks nice has become harder and harder. With the platform, everything is straight and there is no 'light spots' where I couldn't apply enough pressure due to pain. This platform is a godsend for me.

The only 'con' I can think of is I used some Memento Black ink and got some on the clear area. It was a bit hard to get off, but there was no damage left behind...something I have heard can give you trouble with the MISTI if you aren't careful, however since I don't have one of those, I am only going with what I've read online.

In closing, the question isn't, 'Should I buy the TH Stamping Platform?' but rather, 'WHY haven't I bought the TH Stamping Platform'. Dollar for dollar its the best value and you won't be sorry. I'd recommend buying it from scrapbook.com--the price is terrific and they ship FAST!

    Enjoy!

Delighted to have a product to assist the "shaky" stamping hand!

I have waited and waited for this version to become available for US customers, and I pounced to purchase it as soon as I received notification that it was in stock..

I have always have challenges stamping evenly (or correctly...LOL!) and wanted a stamp positioner badly. The cost for the platform size I wanted was cost prohibitive for me from another manufacturer, so this version by a Tonic/TIm Holtz collaboration was welcome news. I have several products from them, and have found them a great value for the money, sturdy, and long-lasting.

I have of course, used the platform immediately upon receiving it, and I am so hopeful for my future stamping! I used multiple step stamps with success; I stamped multiple times to get a good image (poor inking on my part, not any thing to do with the platform!) from very solid stamps (the very band of my stamping existence!), and even found success with some stamps I love, but have *never* been able to obtain a good image from (so glad I was to stubborn to throw them out!)

I find that stamping with this platform does NOT require a heavy touch to stamp out a clean image, and I'm sure each stamper will find their own"sweet spot" for each type of stamp they use. It is easy to clean up after (I ask a messy stamper in addition to being shaky!)

Full transparency: I also own and use the WRMK stamp press plus, with its strong suit in letterpress features and the outstanding stencil holder.
That being said, I highly recommend this Tonic product for its usefulness, sturdiness, and value....and if I could only purchase one, I would choose the Tonic!

  • Disappointed

Before I tried my new stamp platform, I made the big mistake of gifting my Misti to a friend with bad tremors who had given up stamping. My stamp platform seems to have "dead" spots where the ink just doesn't reach the paper. I've tried several options such as placing foam under the card stock, placing increasing layers of CS under the CS I'm stamping on, but no success. I've tested these stamps using an acrylic block even though I knew they stamped perfectly with my Misti. What a waste of $$$.

    Robust and easy to use

Full disclosure - I've never had a stamp platform before.

It was smaller than I expected it to be (which is wonderful). I found it to be intuitive, but I have also watched videos about it and knew to check which side it was on. Swapping the acrylic lid over was simple and quick.

It has a slim profile and a small footprint (roughly the size of an 8x8 album).

  • Very happy with this purchase!

For anyone who was hesitant to buy the MISTI (for various reasons like price, size,...) this is the perfect tool!

First of all: the price - in my opinion definitely worth it and still much cheaper than the smallest MISTI.

Secondly: I think it's well made. Feels sturdy and like a quality item.

Other pros about the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform:
    - the size + the open edges; that way you can even put in 12x12" papers
    - the magnets are very strong and thick, so you don't have to worry about them breaking
    - the measurements are in inch + cm (THANK YOU tonic studios for not forgetting about us non-US people!)
    - you can switch the flap within seconds to use it for either clear or rubber stamps which is really cool! now I can finally use my 6x6" background cling stamps more often :)
    - anti-slip base which keeps it from sliding around your table
    - the surface of the magnetic platform can be wiped clean when you get some stamp ink on it
    - very flat so you can easily store it in a drawer or put it in a bag when going to a crop

all in all, I couldn't find any negative points about this tool! I'm very happy with this purchase and happy that I didn't buy the MISTI or any other similar tool (WRMK Precision Press, etc)

    Spectacular Product

I've had my platform for about a month now and I can't say how pleased I am with this. I actually ordered a MISTI but when I saw that the Tonic was finally released I ordered it and returned the MISTI.

First off, ordering with scrapbook.com was a total breeze and I received my platform two days after ordering it. That really impressed me considering larger retail stores can take up to a week and a half to get an order (looking at you Joann). I will def be giving scrapbook.com more of my piggy bank money.

Now, the platform. This thing is a monster. Heavy duty, well made and easy to use. Being a guy I don't have a delicate touch at times and I was afraid the lid might break but nope. Now I haven't put any strength into it, no need for that, but I have used a fair amount pressure and the lid held up just fine.

The magnets are quite strong but I replaced mine with a bar magnet. I have noticed the magnet can't be too close to the rulers otherwise the lid won't close quite right, no biggie, just move them to the bottom of the cardstock and no more problem.

Thing puppy has been a god send, it makes stamping so much easier, especially layering stamps and now I can do some of the fun techniques that you really need a platform to do.

All in all I'm absolutely pleased with this item and would encourage anyone who wants a positioner to get one.

    • We do not know of the size on the Wendy magnets. However, Tonic offers two different magnets that work with various stamp platforms, including the Tim Holtz product. Item #4506e is a pack of two round magnets and 4507e is two bar magnets. By: Tonic Studios (29-Dec-22) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. • I purchased Static Cling EZ Mount mounting foam and attached it. That way it could be used with the clear blocks also. The EZ mount was the gray, not black.
Also, I put a piece of fun foam found in the craft departments, first on the bottom of the platform, brings the paperr up a bit to meet the stamps. By: DorothyL (03-Nov-18) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • Is this the same product as StampinUps Stamparatus?   By: Parkseconddaugter (21-Mar-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • No, but very similar. Their purpose is exactly the same, however. I think the biggest differences are 1) the Stamparatus is only available from Stampin' Up, 2) the Stamparatus comes with two top plates rather than one, and 3) the Stamparatus can be moved in increments to create some interesting effects. However, the Stamparatus doesn't have a placement feature for clear vs rubber stamps and comes with a stamp pad for aid in that respect. You can use one with the Tim Holtz platform, too, but I haven't found that to be something I need, yet. Maybe with inexpensive clear stamps from foreign countries since they tend to be thinner, but all my stamps are from good companies and I've not yet had any issues. Honestly, I'd say go for the Tim Holtz platform while you can get it in the USA, the quality is excellent, and while Scrapbook.com has them, you will not find a better price anywhere. I have the Tim Holtz standard platform and I have two of the travel platforms. I love them. I may pick up the Stamparatus in the future (not for stamping reasons, but as a "statement," which I will not go into here), but my Tim Holtz platforms are perfect for my needs and I'm very happy with them.
