This Media Surface Mat is designed by Tim Holtz for Tonic Studios. This mat can be used by itself as a work surface on our craft desk or it can be paired with the Glass Media Mat also from Tim Holtz and Tonic Studios (sold separately). This mat measures 13.5" x 23". This mat has reinforced stitched corners to prevent fraying. This mat is made from heavy-duty material that is non-stick. This mat has a heat-resistant top surface. It also has a non-slip base surface. This mat can be cleaned easily with soap and water and left to air dry. This mat also has a protective film that must be removed before use. This mat is the perfect addition to the Glass Media Mat (sold separately) for all your stamping, ink blending, stenciling projects, and more!
I love everything about this media mat! The size is amazing & works great over the glass mat to create more usable space. I also love how easy it is to clean. I also like the fact that you that I can take it anywhere by rolling it up to use wherever I want to rather than lugging my glass mat around.
Tim Holtz does it again! I love TH products! they never disappoint. This product is just fantastic. I had already removed that little mat from the right side of my glass media mat because it was rolling up at the corners. When this came out I was so excited! What a game changer. Just used this yesterday for the first time. I’m in love. It’s east to use cleans up with no fuss and does what it promises to do.
I love this mat! I have been using it over the glass mat! It stays in place, doesn't move at all! A great mat to have!
This mat is the best above all others purchased. Inks wiped right up; gesso wiped right up like a breeze. The mat does not move. Corners do not roll up. Extremely happy with my purchase.
I mainly got this so I'd have a nice white background for times the black just doesn't work for a certain project. It looks well made and fits perfectly. So far I really like it!
This mat is nice and large to help keep most messy mediums contained on the mat. I was bummed to find out alcohol ink would stain it, but it’s perfect for water based mediums like spray stains, distress and oxide inks and a lot of other mediums.
Fits on my glass Mat beautifully and works perfectly. Great protection and easy to clean. Wouldn’t be without it now
This mat fits PERFECTLY over my Tim Holtz glass mat! Now I can mix and play on top of the entire mat without worrying about getting the wrong permanent solutions on my original mat!

I have the Rim Holtz Glass Travel size Media Mat as well as the Silicone Mat (one-sided version) from scrapbook.com.
I love the size!!! It's so much nicer to have the option of entire coverage as opposed to the little one on the side. I just ordered one and hoping it arrives before the Tim Holtz Media Surface Mat Party May 13th at 9 a.m. Pacific-Time... What Fun!!!!! Woooohoooo!!!!!! Thanks to Scrapbook.com offering it at a lower price, I was able to treat myself!!!

Is the mat the same material as the side mat on the glass media mat or is it a silicon non stick mat?
The difference is the size and weighted down corners which are game changers for us messy artists!!! We just want to swim, swish and swirl our colors and media all over!!! This awesome mat also totally resolves the glare that the glass mat gives on photo / filming .... love it!!!! Hello. This mat can be used on any surface, you do not need the glass media mat. This mat has a heat-resistant top surface. It also has a non-slip base surface. This mat can be cleaned easily with soap and water and left to air dry.

Similar question as another user without a glass mat. I was gifted one and not quite sure how to use.With the non slip base, would I keep the film on the back or take off during use? After it is used, how do I store it? Thank you!

I have removed the film and threw it out. When not in use, I just roll it up and store it in my closet.
