This Media Surface Mat is designed by Tim Holtz for Tonic Studios. This mat is designed to coordinate with the Glass Media Mat also from Tim Holtz and Tonic Studios (sold separately). This mat measures 13.5" x 23". This mat has reinforced stitched corners to prevent fraying. This mat is made from heavy-duty material that is non-stick. This mat has a heat-resistant top surface. It also has a non-slip base surface. This mat can be cleaned easily with soap and water and left to air dry. This mat also has a protective film that must be removed before use. This mat is the perfect addition to the Glass Media Mat (sold separately) for all your stamping, ink blending, stenciling projects, and more!
I love everything about this media mat! The size is amazing & works great over the glass mat to create more usable space. I also love how easy it is to clean. I also like the fact that you that I can take it anywhere by rolling it up to use wherever I want to rather than lugging my glass mat around.
I just received this mat and LOVE it. It fits perfectly over my glass media mat and the sewn, weighted corners were the motivation to purchase this mat. I hated that the corners of my other media mats always ended up curling.
The mat is super “clingy” so I used a media tool to smooth the air bubbles out of my mat as I was laying it over the glass media mat. Worked like a charm.

This mat is the best above all others purchased. Inks wiped right up; gesso wiped right up like a breeze. The mat does not move. Corners do not roll up. Extremely happy with my purchase.
This mat fits PERFECTLY over my Tim Holtz glass mat! Now I can mix and play on top of the entire mat without worrying about getting the wrong permanent solutions on my original mat!
So easy to put where you need it to create a large workspace, so easy to move when needed. Stores easily and is at the ready when I am. I am glad I purchased this.
I have the media glass mat so this surface mat will come in handy.
This mat is nice and large to help keep most messy mediums contained on the mat. I was bummed to find out alcohol ink would stain it, but it’s perfect for water based mediums like spray stains, distress and oxide inks and a lot of other mediums.
Just used this yesterday for the first time. I’m in love. It’s east to use cleans up with no fuss and does what it promises to do.
Took it out of the package, used it once and tossed it in the bin. Waste of money. A Stampin Up water based marker will not clean off. You can not use anything other than soap and water. Stamp cleaner won’t take it off. Even my trusted Mr Clean Magic Eraser will not get the water based marker off. I understood Archive Inks would not come off but a water based marker should come off. I’m not looking for perfection, stains over time yes, but the mark is as dark as what comes out of the water based marker is not acceptable.

I have the Rim Holtz Glass Travel size Media Mat as well as the Silicone Mat (one-sided version) from scrapbook.com.
I love the size!!! It's so much nicer to have the option of entire coverage as opposed to the little one on the side. I just ordered one and hoping it arrives before the Tim Holtz Media Surface Mat Party May 13th at 9 a.m. Pacific-Time... What Fun!!!!! Woooohoooo!!!!!! Thanks to Scrapbook.com offering it at a lower price, I was able to treat myself!!!

Is the mat the same material as the side mat on the glass media mat or is it a silicon non stick mat?

The difference is the size and weighted down corners which are game changers for us messy artists!!! We just want to swim, swish and swirl our colors and media all over!!! This awesome mat also totally resolves the glare that the glass mat gives on photo / filming .... love it!!!!
