Your mixed media projects will sparkle and shine with the Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss pens from the Nuvo Collection by Tonic Studios! The package contains two pens with brush tips. The pens contain a clear glitter gloss that adds a glitter effect to any project without hassle and mess.
I bought these pens when they first came out because I LOVE glimmer pens! I have the Wink of Stella pens, which were the first on the market, then I bought the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle brush markers, before purchasing the Tonic Aqua Shimmer pens.
I did a side by side test using each of the markers on a matching solid stamped image. The results were as follows: Wink of Stella had the least sparkle showing, Spectrum Noir had considerabley more sparkle. The winner, without a doubt, was the Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer marker. The sample of it showed that it was evenly covered with tiny sparkly bits, that caught the light much more effectively than either of the other 2 pens.
Note: You MUST be sure to gently shake/roll the barrels of the pen before you start to stroke on the color. That is the only way you will get the sparkles to mix with the carrying agent before it is used. (This holds true for all of the pens with glitter in them!). It is also a good idea to store the pens (any of these mentioned), with the pen tips UP. The Wink of Stella package recommended this, and it worked well - it also works well for the other 2 brands.
I definitely recommend these Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pens. They are less expensive than the other brands and produce a more impressive shimmery result!
I bought these bwcause Jennifer MacGuire uses them and recommended them. They are nice but I tested them side by side with wink of stella and I dont see a difference. Both pens are awesome. Same as the spectrum noir glitter pens. Love that one too.
The pen is a great design and great to use, However I am disappointed in the appearance when used. The packaging has an example on the back from some type of product with glitter. It is NOT an example of what the pen actually dispenses. The example on pack looks like stickles. These pens , when used are exactly like Zig, Wink of Stella , GL Clear. I did a side by side comparison. But the pack of 2 was reasonable in price, I wish they were like what they show on the back of package.
I held off on buying this Shimmer pen set for a long time because they're so stinking expensive! However, when they went on sale I splurged, and are they ever glittery! I'm afraid I'm hooked!!!! Talk about intense glittery shimmer!!! Wow! And yes after it's dry if you touch it some will come off on your finger, but it's no big deal.
It is easy to get the ink to the tip of the pen. They go on very smoothly and it is easy to use on fine details. I love their choice of colors for the set. I was excited to purchase the pens from Scrapbook.com. They are one of my most favored websites. They always get my order shipped and in my mail.

Love this product! Glittery goodness without the mess. Think Wink of Stella amped up a few notches. If you like that sparkle you will love this!

These glitter gloss pens put just the right amount of sheen on your project and really make it pop. I definitely do not want to run out of these. I tried another brand and it works OK, but it's a brush and you cannot trace over words like you can with the pen. Highly recommend these.
I like to add a little sparkle to cards I make using flower stamps. This adds a nice touch, without looking flashy. However, Wink of Stella does the same thing, but it looks slightly different. I will continue to use either of them as they both do the trick.
I have watched a number of wonderful videos where other card makers are using this and what a difference. It add just that little extra sparkle to your project.

How do you store the nuvo pens? With the brush pointing up or down? Mary Lou

I store mine brush up. I always shake it very well and only squeeze when it doesnt seem as "wet". I have been using mine for months now and no issues storing it this way. Im not sure if this is the manufacturer way but I store all my glitter pens this way. I hope this helped you. 😉
