This cork board protects the surface of my drawing table when I pierce my layouts with holes for stitching. It gives my piercer something sturdy and substantial to stick in to because of the thickness. You can also use the cork tiles for mini bulletin boards (decorated of course) at home, school and the office.

I don't know how I was successful with paper pierceing before this item. It's the best for precisely piercing your paper and not damaging anything underneath - sooooo much better than using a healing mat. The thickness is just right for absorbing your piercing tool as you punch through your paper, but not too thick to use comfortably i.e., not jacked up too high off your work surface.
I love this product! It's the perfect surface AND the perfect size to punch through even multiple layers of papers on your scrapbook pages. If you sew on your pages, YOU NEED THIS! You will not find a better surface to pierce the holes in your sewing patterns!
