    Good tool

Have been playing with it today with a variety of dies and it is infinitely easier to cut shapes individually as well as placement on cards. Dies do stay where placed.

    Die Cutting

I purchased this to hold the small dies from Tim Holtz. It holds them in place.
As usual the ordering and the service from scrapbook.com is great!

Love love love the magnetic board for my dies. Now they don't slip and I don't have to worry about having to re-cut. It's worth every penny to me. Fast shipping too!!

    Great product

I love this and have been wanting one for quite a few years but felt that I couldn't afford one. I was very happy to discover that this one was considerably cheaper than other brands so I ordered it and I am happy with it.

Product Questions & Answers

  • If it's magnetic, then it's meant to be used with thin metal dies, NOT needed for embossing. I'm guessing the A mat is the base plate to be used under the dies, with a non-magnetic plate on top. I don't think you can use 2 magnetic mats together, but I may be wrong. So what is the B mat used for?   By: Solitaire (07-Feb-15) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • The magnetic mat is used in lieu of the "regular" B mat for cutting, and according to the directions the "sandwich" is, starting at the bottom, magnetic mat, paper, thinlett / die, and platform with the holes side up. It works great, much easier than trying to keep the die in place without it. By: Magpi (10-Feb-15) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. • Please advise the difference between magnetic mat A & B. I am confused.   By: much2busy (09-Dec-14) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • I believe the difference is the same as is outlined in the Genius Platform System: Mat B is for thick metal dies, Mat A is for thin metal dies. Mat A is thicker. (One of the benefits of the evolution advanced is the adjustable height, removing this complexity. In that case, you can use Mat B in multiple applications) By: kkgirl (13-Apr-18) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • That is INCORRECT, magnetic mat A is for the original Evolution & mat B is for the Evolution Advanced. They can be used interchangeably yet my research has found the A mat to be slightly narrower. By: LPetritis (03-Jul-17) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! What is the difference in the We R magnetic mats A and B other than the price?   By: User (01-Nov-14) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Mat A is about twice as thick as mat B. By: lmcjofey (02-Nov-14) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • As with the other cutting mats, A is for cutting paper with dies, B is for embossing. After looking at the WeRMemory Keepers website, there is no description of the magnetic mats. I am relying on my previous experience and the magnetic mats are for the same actions, A for cutting and B for embossing By: Sassyde (10-Dec-14) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! What is the thickness of the magnetic mat B?   By: User (05-Apr-17) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • the thickness of a clear acrylic plate such as Sizzix, but made of different materials of course. If you are familiar with with the product from this company it looks the same, but is a magnetic plate through and through. i love it. By: ohanalei (09-Apr-17) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Will this work with Cuttlebug & what plate does it replace? Does anyone know how thick it is? The Cuttlebug magnetic plate is too thick.   By: User (01-Mar-17) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!

  • How does the mat heal itself? I can see the die cut impression in the mat.   By: rappers813 (27-Aug-15) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • The mat doesn't really "heal" itself. It is just like the mats you use to cut on with a craft knife. I'm not crazy about this feature either and find that the mat tends to warp with extended use. I have tried to flip the mat over to rotate it, but then you get cuts on both sides. Same problem with the magnetic mat if you place your dies cut side down on it. By: szachta47 (29-Aug-15) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported.
