What our customers are saying about the We R Memory Keepers - Evolution Advanced Die Cutting Tool

“Emboss, die cut AND letterpress in ONE machine with one sandwich. All you have to change is the setting on a dial! No more layers of different pads to cut depending on thickness of dies either--just adjust the dial!” – rebeccakeppel

“I LOVE THIS DIE CUTTING MACHINE!!!! It's very sturdy, portable and very functional! Got this for Christmas last year! I know everyone is wondering how to use the dial since there is not enough information on how to use it with certain dies/embossing folders. I did some research & found the Evolution Advance Dial Settings (pdf) on this website: http://www.weronthenet.com/Evolution_Advanced. I printed out the Evolution Advance Dial Settings pdf as a 4x6, trimmed it, and laminated it as a reference guide and stuck it in 1 of the compartments. I hope the link above helps!” – gailyBunny

“I just got it and have only used it a little, but l love it. So far, everything is working great. The Evolution holds to the surface very well. The crank is easy to turn and I like that I don't have to remember what tabs, shims to use. Adjust the knob, and your on your way. GREAT MACHINE!!!!” – Claudia Giannini

“Easy to use. Less material to carry (shims, extra plates) can do all of your cutting, embossing etc. on one tool. I like it.” – carolapherigo

“I really love this machine, you can use the handle or motor, it cuts very well and has storage on both sides. It also has suction when you pull down the trays. Great product.” – cwenker

“Bought one last December as my Cuttlebug finally died. Love this machine as I just have to turn dial for different thicknesses. Clings to table and gives excellent die cuts. Extremely happy with this machine and would recommend it to anyone.” – barbie06

    Love it!

I have a Silhouette, but I wanted a die cutting machine too... I love this one - it suctions onto the table when you open it up, it folds closed and takes up very little room, has built in storage on both sides, and has a wide range of settings for different thicknesses... It feels very sturdy, but isn't too heavy... The handle unlocks and comes off, and will store inside the machine so it packs/stores well... The platform that it comes with isn't magnetic - but there is a magnetic one available... That's the only down side I can think of...

    Evolution Advanced Die Cutting

This machine is SO much easier to use than any of the others (they shall remain nameless). I really love this machine & find myself using it much more than I did the two others that I have.

Product Questions & Answers

  • I do not have a question to ask but some info to share. If you did not get directions with your (fabulous) Evolution Advanced, you can download them at www.weronthenet.com/Evolution_Advanced. So many people are saying they didn't get them......

But I can clear up several things I am seeing repeatedly in the questions. You only need two things for ANY die cut or embossing folder, the thick platform and the B plate.

If you letterpress, you will get a separate platform with the kIt.

If you get the magnetic platform, again you will only need the platform itself and the B plate. Don't let the A plate and foam pad that comes with it throw you off; these are needed when using with other machines.

The downloadable chart will tell you what the numbers on the right are for. In general, these numbers are presets for specific brands. You don't have to use trial and error on the emboss or die cut settings. I'll give you a few of the numbers to get you started.
3--ANY embossing folder. 11 for any thin dies, such as Sizzix, Die-namics, Stampin' Up, the dies included (Lifestyle Crafts).
    12 for Spellbinders. 13 for Spellbinders D-lites.
For the thick Sizzix dies and the Tim Holtz movers and shapers, no platform, just die, paper, B plate.
And I've found that the Cuttlebug and other dies that are surrounded by foam are cut best with the dial in the die cut settings about mid-way.

When I run my Spellbinders dies through that cut and emboss, they usually get embossed and cut with a single pass. If it don't want the embossing, dial down to a 10. At least that's what works for me

Also, the directions state to put your dies in cut side up because the B plate is self healing. If you are trying to cut a die for a stamped image and need to see exactly where you are cutting, use repositionable tape to hold your image to the B plate. Then place your die over the stamped image and hold it in place with more tape. Now flip it into your platform and run through.

This is what I've had good luck with in the past year. I hope this will help others so the don't get frustrated and start hating the machine. I have previously used a Cuttlebug for several years and a Grand Caliber before that. I'll never go back!!   By: crmuirhead65 (27-Mar-15) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Maybe I'm missing the big picture here but...I don't understand the need for a motor. Can you explain why one would need this?   By: User (28-Sep-14) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!

    • The motor would be used for those of us who can no longer use the crank due to strength in our hands. Arthritis and other illnesses could prevent you from using these machines manually. So this is an excellent option for me and why I want it. By: kerobbymom (29-Nov-14) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • I have a very small craft room and my new evolution is in a small area so rather then moving it everytime I want to emboss or cut something I can just press the button and run it thru rather then trying to turn the handle By: lv2scrap02 (30-Sep-14) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! I have a question about your new Evolution machine. Does it work with Tim Holtz dies and/or Sizzix dies? It's my understanding they don't work with my Cuttlebug but I would so love to find a machine that works with ALL.
Thanks!   By: User (17-Sep-14) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • I don't know about this machine, but in answer to the previous question I have a Cuttlebug and I use Tim HOltz dies and Sizzix dies and I use them in it all the time as long as they aren't extra wide for any reason, they fit just fine! You may try it with your cuttlebug. Although having said that, this new machine does look like it has the best of all the machines. It looks very well thought out and I really like it. I love the self healing mat...why did no one think of that before? And the magnetic mat is just like stephanie barnards magnetic platform. and I like the design of this machine. Are there ANY dies or folders that this machine will not accept? I understand about the width , but what about height?
