shcg: this is just delightful. fun to look at and the work you put into this is obvious. i love the doodled edges. at first glance(one or two seconds) i didn't like the dark yellow tones, but looking at the whole thing it works well being lessened by the lighter pattern, and the other cheery colors.

SHCG: What a FUNGI! Yellow is such a happy color and you did it justice with this great journal cover. The mushroom/rainbow paper is so fun and reminds me of the '60s. Your handwriting is just fabulous I just wish you had a few other colors to tie it to the paper. Now how about the back?

SHCG: I loved this right off the bat, but I didn't realize how much until after I read your description and everyone's comments. You put such great creative energy behind this with the masking and writing on a transparency. Sharon, Jen, and Tiff conveyed my sentiments exactly about how this makes me feel. I was so drawn to your work that I bought myself a kit of this SL line for myself yesterday. :) Perfect way to represent your BWC. Can't wait to get a chance to respond.

SHCG - Like Jen said, this makes me happy just to look at! I love the sunny colors & uplifting images. The mask-painted background is fabulous & the paint-pen transparency cut-out doodles are absolutely terrific! At 1st I thought the black was a little strong for this, I thought perhaps a dark blue would've been better...but now I think it works well, it really helps to make the doodles & writing stand out, plus it ties it all together w/ those perimeter doodles. Love the smiling mushrooms. Love this overall! What a joy to have this be the cover of your art journal! Even if you journal on not-so-happy days, this cover is sure to help take you to your happy place & remind you of what a lucky (& creative) woman you are. TFS!!

SHCG: Marlene! This art journal cover is sooooo freaking fabulous. *stomps feet over the cute factor here* It has a total harajuku feel to it and I adore that! I am sure that this will inspire you artistically...how could it not???? I love the idea with the transparency. It really looks fabulous here. It reminds me of shrinky-dinks a little, but way better! I want an art journal now, too! Super job!

i LOVEEE this book!!!! i really want to get those masks!! i think im gonna splurge a little..haha..not that i ever deprive myself...lol...but this is just soooooo sweet!! and i didnt realize you had actually handmade those doodles yourself!! it really looks like something id buy in a store....thats a really neat idea though -- gonna try that!!!
