Product Name:  Maya Road Small Organza Roses Ribbon

Price:  $1.99 per yard or $27.99 for 15 yards

Product Description:

The Maya Road Small Organza Roses Ribbon is soft and beautiful, and comes in several colors.  This ribbon can be used on cards, layouts, altered art, ATCs, anything! It is very versatile and easy to use.  The ribbon itself measures 1/2" wide with a 1 1/2" wide backing.  The backing can be folded or trimmed as needed.

In Use:

When I received this ribbon, I almost did not want to use it because it was so soft and beautiful.  The flowers look so delicate but I finally decided to use them instead of just holding on to the roll. There are individual roses on this roll, and they are backed with a tulle backing so that it makes a nice ribbon.  You can use this just like ribbon, cutting off as much as you need.

The first advantage of this ribbon is that it is unique. It makes a beautiful embellishment to any paper creation.  The other advantage is that it truly can be used on anything. Even seamstresses could use it to sew onto quilts and other sewing creations.

Some of the organza ribbon colors available in the store include:

I guess the only disadvantage I would comment on is that the tulle backing can be a bit of a pain to work with. It is super soft and unfolds very easily so it can be a bit cumbersome.

Tips & Techniques:

  • Create decorative borders for your scrapbook pages.
  • Add one flower to the center of larger paper flowers or other larger flowers (see the layouts below).
  • Use several roses sprinkled around a layout.
  • Make a larger rose by circling the roses around into a larger flower.

Project Ideas & Examples:

Because I have not had this ribbon for very long, right now my favorite thing to do with the ribbon is to use it in the center of larger flowers. The organza flowers would of course be beautiful sprinkled all over a page.  Here are two layouts I did using the organza flowers with paper flowers.  I just cut one flower off the roll, trimmed the backing, and adhered each rose with Glossy Accents. This is so easy, yet it provides such a pretty embellishment to your page.
