August 2011 Sketch Challenge

Banners and tickets are two of the hottest trends in scrapbooking this year. This month's sketch features both of these as well as three photos and plenty of opportunities for embellishments.
I asked two of my favorite designers to interpret the sketch and make it their own. Here's what they came up with:
In this layout, Karry Weaver flipped the bottom half of the sketch, but left the banner in the same place. I love the way she used different sized pennants in her banner.
Mary Eason chose not to use the banner and rotated the sketch in this fabulous layout.
For my layout, I followed the sketch very closely. Since the papers from Webster's Pages Spring Market collection are so beautiful, I didn't feel the need to add too many embellishments to the layout.
Sketches are meant as a starting point and not as a rule to govern your layout. As you use the sketch, feel free to rotate it, flip it, and move or add elements to make it work for you.
