That is called being in the right place at the right time WITH a camera. One of those three elements is usually always missing with me, but fortunately, not for you! That is a fantastic picture - my mom and I just spent 15 minutes admiring him!
oooh - you must look like a pea hen to him! they're SO pretty! a couple of people on nearby ranches have them... have you heard their "call"? Sounds like a meowing cat!! LOL
Have to wonder why he was made so beautiful and other birds are... birds. SO neat to find one just wanering the park. I only find these beautiful creatures at the zoo.
I haven't seen one of these IRL for a long time. I'm suprised that our zoo doesn't have any. This is a great shot...looks like you were real close! :o}
Wow!! Beautiful! My friends came across two of these at the gym parking lot the other day... instead of seeing what they'd do, they decided to chase them... and fell into a ditch. ;)
what a spectacular bird. My cousin raised some one year - terribly noisy birds, but we got to keep any feathers that we found. So I have a few really pretty ones.
they are so pretty! When Iwas in kindergarden our shcool was next door to a peacock farm, at recess the birds would come to the fence to check us out, they were always fun to watch.
