I'm not going to lie, I was kinda excited when I found out my jazz class was going to be doing 1990s music this year and, in the picture, the costume didn't look all that bad. As a matter of fact, it looked kind of "cyberpunk" to me which fit ironically enough with the fact they were calling the dance "The Digital Decade." This costume was a case of it looking nice in the costume book but not so much when we actually got it. The pants were long on everyone and instead of looking cyberpunk, it looked like Victorian gone absolutely wrong. As for the music, I'm slightly jealous of the class one level below us since they get to dance to the Backstreet Boys "Larger than Life" while we have to dance to (among other things) Whitney Houston's "It's Not Right." Actually, most of my class would rather dance to the Backstreet Boys since most of us are old enough to remember when they were cool! (The boa's not part of the costume...just my jazz instructor having fun with props and trying his best to cover the front of the costume)
