30 Years: page 5

SHCG: Luv the face in the sun sending out rays to the tied up tomato plants. It is so interesting to have a scrapbook page make me stop and try to analyse the relationships and hiddens meanings of every element. Is it a tomato plant or the symbolism of your youth growing up. And you may not be a red tomato but your face (or whoevers face it is) is highest tomato up on the tallest plant. Happy or sad, good or bad. I can't tell. Which makes the page even more interesting. Enlarging the page also reveals more details. Are the staples there because the sun person is coming apart? or are they just staples? LOL it's fun to ponder while enjoying the beautiful colors.

SHCG: I absolutely love the work you did on the tomato plant, complete with the fencing and twine. This brings back happy memories of when my MIL had a garden to tend that she was proud to show us whenever we'd visit. I adore you? as a lil' tomato and the idea of your grandma as the sun. I really like the brown splatter stains and the different tomato colors and textures. The green vines and leaves themselves are so beautifully done. This song is perfect for those awkward years. My only suggestions are really just what I might've done differently, either use green or red ink for the journaling and maybe tinted your grandma's photo with golden yellow hues. Fantastic example for your challenge, Brian!

SHCG: This is fab, just like the rest of your pages for this book. I love the sun and how you did the rays and the paper beams that continue are great. The tomato plants are really nice, I love the face as one of the tomatoes and the misting is great! :)

SHCG - Wow, Brian, this is quite sublime. Fits right into the dreamy storybook quality of your book thus far. I love seeing your grandma in the corner & how her radiance is shown through paper sunbeams around the her & through the sky. The tomato plants are awesome! Love tiny photo. Great to see bits of text (on the tomato & the "I like that"), corresponds w/ the wandering journaling through the book. Nice subdued palette. I must agree w/ Denitza that the lyrics are a little hard to read here but it might be your scan. Amazing work & excellent challenge response (I still intend to respond to your BWC, btw!)
