On June 22, 2002 Mom and I went to our first 98 FM KCQ free concert on Ojibway Island. Headliners were Clay Walker, Darryl Worley, Blake Shelton, and Carolyn Dawn Johnson. They also had Emerson Drive, Little Big Town, and Tommy Shane Stiner on the “New Faces” stage.
Unfortunately, neither of us brought our camera that day! We spent most of the day on the island. It was extremely hot, so we baked in the sun all day. We didn’t stay in one place for very long; we wandered the island going in and out of the shade. We drank enough water to stay hydrated, but not so much that we were constantly using the port-a-potties!
We ended up meeting my friend Kerie there and spending some time chatting with her.
We had a great time and decided we’d have to try and make it back next year!
