I heard about an old wives’ tale that said if you wanted to conceive a girl, to put a wooden spoon under your bed. When we started talking about having another baby, I went right out and bought a special wooden spoon. I also bought some pink ribbon, and tied a pink bow around the spoon. I placed it under our bed.
When I found out I was pregnant, I was excited to see if the spoon trick worked. We decided to wait until the birth to find out the sex of the baby, so I had a long wait!
When the big day finally arrived, I was overjoyed to find out I had indeed gotten my wish, a daughter!
The wooden spoon worked!
