This is a very touching, heartbreaking LO! You did such a wonderful job, and remind me that scrapbooking life includes the good memories, as well as the sad. My heart goes out to you hun....thank you so much for sharing!
What a beautiful, touching LO - I love your journaling strips with the mix of scalloped ones as well - TFS - and keep saving and cherishing those memories!
aw, DH's grandmother had alzheimers, and it was heartbreaking,,,,it was so hard on him. This is a beautiful LO, Estee,,,,and a wonderful reason to scrap.
Oh Estee, this is beautiful!!! Your journaling is beautiful and has me a teary eyed. My heart aches for you. I am so happy you have those letters from her!!
This is so bittersweet and heartfelt. Your journaling touched me and your grandma looks like such a sweet old lady. (like me ...hehehehe) You created a beautiful page that expresses your feelings. I love it!
We did not know that medical term when my father had it before he passed away. I know how you feel and remember too how happy I was when my Dad recognizes us even if only for a second...memories worth keeping!
Beautiful layout and so touching. My grandmother has dementia and has a hard time getting out what she wants to say. I can see how much it pains her to not be able to communicate.
Beautiful - it's the same with me. I've lost 3 great grandparents and 2 grandparents that had althzeimers and another one is in the early stages of dementia. When my grandfather was at his worst and didn't know any of us when we would visit.. my grandma started pulling out photos of each of us as small children... he would look at a photo of me at age 3 then look up at me and say you look the same just no pigtails and he knew which grandchild I was -- but only if had those photos of us when we were little. He didn't know WHO we were as adults. Even though he was consistently around each of us as we got older.
I take photos so I hopefully don't forget... and also hoping that as my son gets older and we look through the photos and scrapbooks - that through my story telling he will be able to re-tell those stories to his children long after my memory has failed me.
This is the layout that I created as an example for the All Day Challenge for National Scrapbooking Day! The Challenge is to create a layout about why you scrapbook. Nan has Alzheimer's Disease and I am so saddened by her loss of memories and the impact that it has had on our family. I want my stories to be remembered and I want my kids to know just how loved that they were. Scrapbooking allows me to do that. I hope that you are going to join in on the challenge! Thanks for stopping by!
